BlackRock | Banking and Financial Services | 19900 | $19.4B | United States | Bloomberg | Bloomberg Terminal | Investment Research and Market Intelligence | 2016 | n/a |
In 2016, BlackRock deployed Bloomberg Terminal as a core component of its Investment Research and Market Intelligence stack to support portfolio analytics, market data ingestion, and data quality controls. Bloomberg Terminal was integrated into workflows that fed analytics and indexing capabilities used by portfolio management and operations teams.
Implementation centered on two purpose built capabilities, ARROW and a dynamic Index subscription Model. ARROW served as an exception engine able to compare any two dimensional set of data day over day and flag suspicious movements, while the dynamic Index subscription Model automated subscription of index data into portfolios in real time as vendor data became available. The project also formalized production onboarding processes for new clients, including portfolio creation, index subscription provisioning, and analytics query handling.
Operational scope covered delivery of analytics solutions supporting over three trillion dollars in assets under management, serving Insurance, Banking, and Global Asset Manager clients. Production documentation was created for more than 200 clients to reduce operational handoffs and improve transparency, and Bloomberg Terminal was used alongside JIRA, Unix, and SQL in the operational environment.
Governance and process changes included standardized production processes and documented runbooks to reduce inter resource dependability and increase process transparency. ARROW reduced Operational Risk by 80 percent as reported in the implementation notes, and the dynamic Index subscription Model eliminated manual intervention while reducing subscription turnaround time by 0.5 hours per new index subscription.

BNP Paribas Asset Management Netherlands | Banking and Financial Services | 1500 | $600M | Netherlands | Bloomberg | Bloomberg Terminal | Investment Research and Market Intelligence | 2017 | n/a |
In 2017, BNP Paribas Asset Management Netherlands implemented Bloomberg Terminal within its Investment Research and Market Intelligence environment to support front office and fiduciary management activities. The deployment was anchored to the LDIFO project in Amsterdam, delivering market data and analytics into daily portfolio processing workflows used by portfolio managers, risk analysts, and portfolio modelers.
Bloomberg Terminal was provisioned as a primary market data and instrument reference source, feeding price, quote, and market consensus information into the in house LDIFO application. LDIFO processes daily portfolio holdings, instrument data, ESG scores, market data, benchmark definitions, and instrument and issuer ratings, and users configure monitoring rules and mandate specific limits in the system.
The Bloomberg Terminal integration operated alongside explicit third party systems, with Bloomberg Terminal supplying market data, BarraOne used to create instruments and import portfolio holdings, and Aladdin providing instrument, benchmark, and portfolio holding data via the green package. Data flows were composed of Bloomberg market feeds and batch or import processes from BarraOne and Aladdin into the LDIFO structured data model to support portfolio monitoring and risk workflows.
Governance and rollout included on site business analyst and quality assurance engagement, with Business Analyst Quality Assurance resources active from December 2017 through February 2020 to validate monitoring rules, configuration of limits per client mandate, and data integrity across instrument and holdings imports. Operational scope focused on portfolio management, risk analysis, and portfolio modeling functions in the Amsterdam office, with configuration governance centered on mandate level rules and structured data validation.
