In 2013 Hirepool implemented Datacom EasiPay to take over payroll processing for the merger of Hirepool and Hirequip, using the solution under the PEO (Professional Employer Organization) category to centralize payroll and time capture across the combined business. The engagement focused on operational consolidation for New Zealand branches and the re-establishment of consistent payroll rules following the merger.
Datacom EasiPay provided core payroll processing and a dedicated EasiPay Time & Attendance module, configured to run weekly payroll for 450 permanent staff working seven days a week and monthly payroll for 200 salaried staff. Functional capabilities implemented included time and attendance approval workflows, new employee setup, termination and final pay processing, salary and wage changes, weekend allowance configuration, manual pays processing on Fridays, and annual screen leave processing. The full application name Datacom EasiPay is used for both payroll and time capture activities.
Operational integration was executed through the EasiPay Time & Attendance system for branch clocking approvals across all New Zealand sites, with payroll outputs producing Direct Credit reports for banking and EMS/PAYE reports for IR filing. Reporting capabilities were configured to generate payroll, costing, and leave balance reports for 71 Branch Managers and to export files and spreadsheets to support AMP and Mercer super fund payments. All clocking and hours worked were validated through EasiPay before payroll runs.
Governance and process changes were instituted via remote training and procedural handover, including phone training for 71 Branch Managers on EasiPay Time & Attendance, standardized steps for adding casual staff, password and new employee provisioning, and documented procedures for transfers between payroll sequences. The assignment concluded with a formal handover to the payroll administrator accompanied by new processing steps and procedures to sustain the consolidated Hirepool payroll operation.

In 2019, Scentre Group deployed Datacom EasiPay to support payroll operations across its Australia and New Zealand portfolio. Datacom EasiPay is implemented as a PEO (Professional Employer Organization) application to centralize weekly payroll processing and payroll-adjacent HR administration for the company and its network of Westfield centres.
