In 2020, Cipla deployed eMudhra emAS together with emSigner to automate medico-legal, regulatory and operational document signing. The deployment used eMudhra emAS within Identity and Access Management (IAM) to provide certificate-based signing and authentication across QC, QA, Legal, HR, Finance and Purchase in India during the pandemic.
The implementation centralized emSigner signing capabilities, certificate lifecycle validation, and timestamping, and configured role-based signing workflows to align with Identity and Access Management (IAM) functional patterns. Configuration emphasized real-time certificate authentication and automated signature orchestration for regulatory and operational document streams.
AmbiSure Technologies implemented an on premises integration that provided real-time certificate authentication into Cipla document workflows, enabling remote approvals and signed artifacts to be cryptographically verifiable. The rollout explicitly covered quality control, quality assurance, legal, HR, finance and purchase departments and targeted medico-legal and regulatory paperwork subject to FDA 21 CFR requirements.
Governance and process changes included centralized certificate authority controls and standardized signing policies for remote reviewers, with AmbiSure Technologies supporting integration and deployment activities. In 2022, Herbalife India implemented eMudhra emAS alongside eMudhra Remote Signing, eSign V3, emBridge and SecurePass to secure distributor agreement and invoice signing. Herbalife India implemented eMudhra emAS for Identity and Access Management (IAM) to add authenticated access and signature controls to distributor and finance workflows.
The deployment used eMudhra Remote Signing and eSign V3 for cryptographic electronic signatures and signature lifecycle management, with emBridge serving as the orchestration layer for document exchange and signing flows. SecurePass formerly eMAS was implemented as the authentication module corresponding to eMudhra emAS, providing certificate based authentication and multi factor verification consistent with Identity and Access Management (IAM) controls.
Integrations were explicit to Herbalife India’s customer-facing app and to Coupa in India, embedding eSign capabilities into procurement and invoice approval workflows. The implementation covered distributor agreement signing and invoice processing and impacted finance and distributor operations by moving signature capture and verification into automated application and procurement flows.
Governance changes centralized e-sign workflows, introduced role based access and authentication gating for signing events, and established electronic signature auditability and compliance controls. The project reduced signature turnaround from days to minutes and improved compliance as reported in the case study.

In 2012, ICICI Bank implemented eMudhra emAS to secure internet banking authentication and transaction signing, leveraging Identity and Access Management (IAM) capabilities. The deployment targeted PKI-based login and digital signature certificate issuance for both corporate and retail customers on the bank's internet banking channel in India, and it was aligned to meet Reserve Bank of India security guidelines.
eMudhra emAS was configured to deliver certificate issuance and lifecycle management, PKI-based authentication, transaction signing and two factor authentication workflows. The implementation established scalable digital signature certificate issuance processes for corporate and retail segments and embedded PKI authentication and signing flows into customer login and transaction authorization paths.
