American Electric Power | Utilities | 16330 | $19.7B | United States | Ge Vernova | GE ADMS | Utilities Distribution Management | 2016 | n/a |
In 2016 American Electric Power engaged GE Vernova to deploy GE ADMS as the core of an Integrated Distribution Operating Platform, with the program announced in early 2016 and rollout across AEP operating companies completed in May 2016. The deployment was positioned to centralize distribution operations under a single operational layer and to bring Utilities Distribution Management capabilities directly into day to day network control.
The implementation integrated GE's GIS, OMS and GE ADMS to create a unified network model and consistent operator interfaces, standardizing workflows for fault location, isolation and service restoration and for situational awareness. GE ADMS was configured to support advanced distribution management workflows and outage management processes, providing consolidated visualization and operator decision support for distribution dispatch.
Integrations focused on the three GE components, creating data continuity between mapping, outage ticketing and real time distribution supervisory functions, while operational coverage was defined by rollout across AEP operating companies. Business functions impacted included distribution operations, outage restoration, field crew coordination and control room operations, aligning operational processes with the Utilities Distribution Management platform.
Governance changes emphasized standardized distribution operating procedures and operator workflow improvements to match the integrated platform capabilities, with a phased enterprise rollout completed in May 2016. Reported outcomes included improved operator workflows and streamlined outage management as delivered through the integrated GE ADMS platform.

DTEK | Utilities | 60000 | $15.0B | Ukraine | Ge Vernova | GE ADMS | Utilities Distribution Management | 2024 | n/a |
In 2024, DTEK implemented GE ADMS to create a single integrated platform for distribution operations across multiple regions in Ukraine. The rollout began with a Kyiv implementation as the first of six site implementations, and it is part of a broader grid modernization and digital transformation program in the region.
GE ADMS was configured to deliver core Utilities Distribution Management capabilities, including real time network visibility, outage management workflows, distribution model orchestration, and dispatcher situational awareness for distribution operations. The implementation focused on operational modules that align control room processes with field crew coordination and automated fault detection and isolation workflows.
The platform consolidates distribution operations into a single operational view to support regional control rooms and centralized decision making, aligning operational procedures across DTEK's regional distribution teams. Deployments will extend from Kyiv to five additional regional sites, standardizing operational processes and toolsets for distribution operations across the footprint.
Governance for the rollout followed a phased site by site approach, coordinating configuration, testing, and operator training to embed GE ADMS into dispatch and outage response workflows. The program explicitly targets reduced power disruption times through improved operational visibility and coordinated field response.

NextEra Energy | Utilities | 16800 | $24.8B | United States | Ge Vernova | GE ADMS | Utilities Distribution Management | 2022 | n/a |
In 2022, NextEra Energy implemented GE ADMS as a strategic component of its Utilities Distribution Management stack to strengthen Power Delivery operations across the enterprise. The GE ADMS deployment was executed within a multi-year business-technology transformation program that targeted more than 3,500 customer-facing processes, supported a $15 billion regulated revenue base, and aligned with an $8.3 billion regulatory capital deployment plan.
The implementation encompassed core distribution management capabilities consistent with Utilities Distribution Management solutions, including real-time distribution network modeling, distribution state estimation, and automated fault location and restoration workflows. GE ADMS was configured to interoperate with advanced metering infrastructure AMI 2.0, distributed energy resource management systems DERMs, and outage management system OMS components, supporting coordinated operational workflows for grid monitoring and service restoration.
Integrations extended beyond grid systems into enterprise and field systems listed in program oversight, including Salesforce CRM and FSM, SAP S/4 HANA ISU CR&B, IBM Maximo for assets, Oracle CIS, IBM mainframe CRIS/CSS, and over 150 mobile and customer-facing web applications. The deployment operated inside a newly created Business-IT-OT Fusion Center operating model, enabling cross-functional orchestration between field operations, customer service, IT, and operational technology teams to support omnichannel CIS and CRM processes and M&A integration activities.
Governance and organizational change management accompanied the ADMS rollout, with formal OCM workstreams for communications, culture change, and community engagement, and a shift toward product-based IT operating models. The GE ADMS program was part of broader transformations that reported accelerated deployment cycles from seven months to under 40 days, delivered stated annual O&M savings of $63 million through organizational and operational shifts, reduced cost to serve customers and improved customer experience as reported by the program, and leveraged automation initiatives including ServiceNow Now Assist Agentic AI to automate work processes and raise ITIL maturity.
