A-L Compressed Gases Distribution 80 $9M United States Infonetics Infonetics Informss Distribution ERP 2000 n/a
In 2000, A-L Compressed Gases implemented Infonetics Informss. The deployment introduced Infonetics Informss as a Distribution ERP to support the companys multi site distribution footprint based in Spokane, Washington. A-L Compressed Gases operated four Washington stores including two in Spokane, plus locations in Moses Lake and Pasco and a fifth store in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, covering a roughly 400 mile radius across Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Montana. The Infonetics Informss implementation focused on core distribution capabilities typical of Distribution ERP systems, including multi site inventory management, order entry and processing, purchasing and vendor management, pricing and customer account management, and warehouse transaction control. Configuration was aligned to the product mix of welding supplies, specialty and industrial gases, safety equipment, propane equipment, and hand and power tools, reflecting inventory and replenishment patterns unique to gas cylinder and supply distribution. Operational coverage included all five retail and distribution sites and the corporate office in Spokane, onboarding store sales and operations staff into a centralized transactional platform. The deployment standardized order workflows and inventory transactions across retail and wholesale channels, supporting sales, purchasing, inventory control, and customer account functions across the regional footprint. The sale and onboarding were executed through INFONETICS field sales activity led by Account Specialist Jim Conlin, and the implementation brought Barb and Shan Bush and approximately 35 employees into the INFONETICS user community. Infonetics Informss served as the central Distribution ERP for A-L Compressed Gases beginning in 2000.
Advanced Gas & Welding Solutions Distribution 20 $2M United States Infonetics Infonetics Informss Distribution ERP 2005 n/a
In 2005, Advanced Gas & Welding Solutions implemented Infonetics Informss as its Distribution ERP. The deployment coincided with INFONETICS promoting Remote Access Limited Information, known as RALI, and the implementation leveraged that remote access model to extend controlled access to system data for select customer and partner scenarios. Infonetics Informss was positioned to address core distribution needs for the Eastlake, Ohio distributor within the Distribution ERP category. The implementation focused on standard Distribution ERP functional areas, configured to support inventory control, order entry and processing, billing and invoicing, and customer account management. Configuration emphasized multi-user transaction processing and role-based access for sales, warehouse, and accounting functions, with RALI enabling offsite order entry and read access for select external stakeholders. The use of Infonetics Informss aligned application-level workflows with day-to-day distribution operations. Governance and operational rollout reflected the company size and distribution scope, with system administration and process ownership mapped to internal roles in sales, warehouse operations, and finance. Training and configuration cycles were oriented toward small team adoption and operational continuity, while RALI provided a mechanism for offering value add services to select customers through remote data access. The implementation tied Infonetics Informss to operational control of order-to-cash and inventory workflows under the Distribution ERP framework.
Advanced Gas Products & Welding Supplies Distribution 10 $1M United States Infonetics Infonetics Informss Distribution ERP 2003 n/a
In 2003, Advanced Gas Products & Welding Supplies implemented Infonetics Informss, targeting core Distribution ERP functions at the Huntington Beach location. The deployment of Infonetics Informss was positioned to support inventory, order entry, pricing and catalog-driven sales workflows typical of a Distribution ERP for a small distributor with single-site operations and potential branch connectivity. The implementation included the Infonetics Internet Catalog iCat as a web storefront component and was provisioned on the new Version 2.20 release which was available for full distribution in 2003. Infonetics Informss Version 2.20 incorporated a number of enhancements across the application stack, and the release was explicitly ported to RedHat Linux as the server operating system. Operational architecture leveraged RITA+VPN technology to rewrite branch store communications with the main office, enabling lower cost WAN connectivity compared with traditional leased lines and supporting remote order synchronization. The software and iCat catalog were intended to run on Intel Pentium 4 class servers with Hyper-Threading, providing substantially higher CPU and disk throughput for transaction and catalog processing, with a Linux-based server platform hosting the application and web catalog. Rollout and governance followed Infonetics INFOGROUP channels, including beta testing cycles and user group engagement for training and early adoption; Advanced Gas Products was named among new customers in September 2003. Explicit outcomes called out in the vendor communications included cost savings from RITA+VPN and a tenfold performance increase for CPU and disk-intensive workloads attributed to the new server hardware, while Linux was described as secure, modern, fast, reliable and affordable.
