In 2023, Cintas implemented Lemongrass Cloud Platform, an iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service), to orchestrate and automate SAP operations as part of a strategic migration to Google Cloud Platform. The engagement targeted SAP workloads including SAP’s Enterprise Central Component ECC and involved migration of more than 130 terabytes of uncompressed data and over 212 SAP applications across production, test, and staging environments.
Lemongrass Cloud Platform served as a governance, management, and automation orchestration layer tuned to SAP operations, leveraging LCP Migrate and cloud-native automation to shift from an IBM Power infrastructure and large Oracle databases to Google Cloud and IBM Db2. The project moved beyond a lift-and-shift approach, adopting a heterogeneous replatform strategy to reduce database footprint while preserving SAP functional consistency.
Integrations implemented included direct hosting on Google Cloud Platform, a transition of multiple databases from Oracle to Db2, and instrumentation of microservices and Cortex integration framework capabilities to enable connectivity with the SAP HANA-based analytics data lake. The migration was executed over a nine month window using weekend cutovers to maintain continuity, achieving zero downtime for the database moves and compressing a massive database by 60 percent.
Operational scope covered IT infrastructure, SAP operations, and data management teams supporting Cintas’s US and Canadian customer and workforce footprint. Lemongrass continues to provide managed services and knowledge transfer to Cintas, operating Lemongrass Cloud Platform to manage and optimize SAP operations and to stabilize the new cloud-native data management platform.

In 2019, Convatec Group implemented the Lemongrass Cloud Platform as an iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) to migrate, operate, and automate its SAP systems on AWS. In 2019, the decision followed a longstanding relationship with a global systems integrator and a company-level drive to evaluate cloud service providers for cost, agility, and roadmap alignment.
The Lemongrass Cloud Platform provided governance, monitoring, and automation capabilities across onboarding, continuous managed operations, and SAP DevOps, delivering self-service, machine learning, and AI enabled automation. Lemongrass Cloud Platform was used to execute Landing Zone build-out, large scale migrations and ongoing managed services for SAP workloads, and to operationalize automated security policy checks and backup execution alerts.
Architecturally the implementation centered on SAP workloads running on AWS with LCP instrumenting any to any SAP database and operating system migrations and supporting near zero downtime (NZDT) execution. The implementation narrative notes ConvaTec’s broader estate includes systems such as IBM Sterling and Hyperion, with LCP positioned to support SAP and related workloads while aligning to the company roadmap toward S/4HANA, simplification, and optimisation.
Governance shifted toward a data driven SAP DevOps model that departs from artisan system management, enabling repeatable onboarding and maintenance processes across the SAP estate. The platform is offered as a separately licensed solution that Lemongrass co develops with customers, and it was coupled with Lemongrass managed services to provide continuous innovation, operations, and lifecycle support for Convatec’s cloud SAP footprint.
