Scottish Friendly | Banking and Financial Services | 200 | $61M | United Kingdom | Linedata | Linedata Optima | Portfolio and Investment Management | 2015 | n/a |
In 2015 Scottish Friendly implemented Linedata Optima as part of a broader deployment of Linedata Icon to modernize fund accounting and administration. The move targeted Portfolio and Investment Management capabilities to handle increased volume and complexity following the acquisition of Marine & General Mutual and a doubling of assets under administration.
The implementation centered on Linedata Optima as a business process management solution designed for portfolio accounting, deployed alongside Linedata I CIPS for autonomous net asset value calculation and validation. The program leveraged the modularity and configurability of the Linedata Icon platform to provision accounting workflows, valuation engines, and fund administration processes that could be scaled across multiple funds.
Operationally the deployment used Linedata hosted infrastructure to delegate technical operations and application hosting, and emphasized local support in Scotland to align back office asset management and investment accounting teams. Scottish Friendly completed an initial launch of 15 funds representing nearly one billion pounds of assets in less than a month, with a scheduled migration of a further 25 funds representing an additional one billion pounds in the coming months.
Governance followed a staged rollout and a rigorous vendor evaluation and selection process, with close engagement between Scottish Friendly finance stakeholders and Linedata support teams. The configuration focused on fund accounting workflows, BPM orchestration through Linedata Optima, and NAV calculation, with governance processes and supplier managed hosting structured to support future scaling within Portfolio and Investment Management.
