Pictet | Banking and Financial Services | 5000 | $3.4B | Switzerland | Morningstar | Morningstar On Demand | Portfolio and Investment Performance and Planning | 2007 | n/a |
In 2007, Pictet implemented Morningstar On Demand to support its Portfolio and Investment Performance and Planning workflows. The deployment established vendor-hosted, on-demand portfolio analytics and performance reporting capabilities for Pictet, aligning the Morningstar On Demand application with investment management, fund analysis, and client reporting functions across the firm.
The Morningstar On Demand implementation focused on portfolio analytics, performance attribution, benchmarking and standardized reporting, providing fund-level and composite performance views and peer comparison functionality. Configuration emphasized role-based access for portfolio managers, performance analysts and client reporting teams, and the application served as a centralized source for investment performance workflows consistent with the Portfolio and Investment Performance and Planning category.
Operational use of Morningstar On Demand included systematic fund peer analysis and market data consumption from Morningstar data sets. Data from Morningstar and Morningstar/Lipper was later used in Pictet’s Market Intelligence report produced in 2019 by the Client Solution and Innovation team, a report that was cited in the Pictet Group 2019 annual report and demonstrates continuity of Morningstar-sourced analytics in Pictet’s research and product study activities.
Governance put emphasis on embedding standardized reporting processes and product study workflows within the Client Solution and Innovation function, formalizing peer analysis and market intelligence production. The implementation positioned Morningstar On Demand as a core analytical layer for Portfolio and Investment Performance and Planning, supporting iterative product study and internal research workflows without introducing external implementation partner dependencies.

Schroders | Banking and Financial Services | 6071 | $3.2B | United Kingdom | Morningstar | Morningstar On Demand | Portfolio and Investment Performance and Planning | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018 Schroders implemented Morningstar On Demand as a central data layer for Portfolio and Investment Performance and Planning. The deployment supported an interactive global fund reporting project and a digital platform for Schroders Fund Factsheets managed from London between February 2018 and February 2019.
Morningstar On Demand was configured to feed fund factsheet rendering, performance and benchmark fields, and share class attribute propagation. Implementation activities included the reconciliation of all performance and benchmark values between Schroders and Morningstar, validating bespoke benchmarks at Morningstar via their IWT solution, and ensuring all Funds and Share Classes had core attributes populated so data could reliably feed the digital platform.
Operational scope covered the Product Division and Schroders Global Fund Centre with global stakeholder liaison for data requirements, content governance, and exception handling. A BA SME contractor in London coordinated with product, operations, and reporting teams to operationalize data feeds, reconcile exceptions, and align the Morningstar On Demand configuration with the Global Fund Centre's requirements.
