Abuba Steak | Leisure and Hospitality | 500 | $34M | Indonesia | Odoo | Odoo Inventory | Inventory Management | 2020 | n/a |
In 2020, Abuba Steak implemented Odoo Inventory as its Inventory Management solution to centralize stock control across its restaurant chain. The Jakarta-based steakhouse moved to Odoo after a prolonged SAP Business One engagement that suffered slow integration, limited application interoperability across Purchasing, Inventory, and Accounting, and reduced implementation support.
The deployment centered on Odoo Inventory alongside the Odoo manufacturing app, PoS app, and accounting app, using advanced Bills of Materials to standardize recipes and production routings. Functional configuration emphasized centralized data, configurable BoMs, production routing, quality control checkpoints, and maintenance scheduling to align kitchen operations with back-office workflows.
Integrations implemented included the chain PoS ecosystem and local bank connectivity for payment reconciliation and tax reporting exports, and the SaaS deployment was delivered via a quickstart program completed in less than three months. The subscription expanded to sixteen Odoo applications initially, later increasing, and the platform was adopted across front-line restaurant staff and back-office teams, supporting work activities for over eight hundred employees according to the implementation narrative.
Governance and rollout were coordinated by a Bahasa-speaking functional consultant, Marianne Janet Oentaryo, with emphasis on localization and a guided self-learning adoption model. Standardization of operations and configuration ownership were prioritized to enable repeatable rollout across sites and to reduce information distribution bottlenecks between R&D, operations, and finance.
Reported outcomes from the implementation included faster time to value through the SaaS quickstart, digitization of primary operations, simplified and less error prone working instructions via BoMs, synchronized planning across routing quality control and maintenance, enhanced PoS reporting and forecasting, and easier payment reconciliation and tax reporting through accounting and bank integrations.
