AmerCable | Manufacturing | 300 | $234M | United States | Oracle | Oracle E-Business Suite Inventory Management | Inventory Management | 2016 | IT Convergence |
In 2016 AmerCable implemented Oracle E-Business Suite Inventory Management to refine and consolidate its Oracle R12 inventory views and stabilize inventory operations. IT Convergence was engaged as the implementation and development partner, using nearshore development resources in Buenos Aires to deliver targeted R12 refinements and application extensions.
The engagement focused on Oracle Inventory Management R12 within the broader Oracle Supply Chain Management R12 footprint, delivering form personalizations and consolidated screens. Development work merged supply and demand forms and surfaced Oracle Purchase Order and Discrete Job Description data in a single view, adding interactive buttons to generate reports and exposing planning attributes such as Fixed Quantity, Planning Lead Time, and Processing Lead Time directly within the same interface.
Operational coverage targeted AmerCable manufacturing and supply chain workflows at the El Dorado Arkansas site while aligning with the companys global distribution and cable assembly operations. The implementation impacted business functions including inventory control, procurement, and discrete job management by consolidating disparate data outputs into one Inventory Management view and tightening process flows used by planners and warehouse operators.
Governance and rollout included delivery of step by step end user instructions and handover for ongoing development, with IT Convergence providing long term application support and stabilization. As a result AmerCables Oracle R12 environment was reported as running properly, supporting a consolidated inventory view, reducing time spent searching for information, and enabling continued partnership with IT Convergence for future Oracle development needs.

American Commercial Barge Line | Transportation | 1500 | $300M | United States | Oracle | Oracle E-Business Suite Inventory Management | Inventory Management | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018, American Commercial Barge Line implemented Oracle E-Business Suite Inventory Management. The deployment was part of a broader initiative to migrate Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.3 Financials, Purchasing, Inventory and Asset Management modules to the Amazon Web Services platform to gain flexibility, cost reduction and pay as you go infrastructure economics.
Oracle E-Business Suite Inventory Management was configured as the core inventory control and stock transaction engine, with the Inventory and Asset Management modules commissioned to support warehouse operations, inventory valuation workflows and asset tracking. The implementation preserved EBS functional continuity across purchasing and financials, ensuring transaction flows remained consistent between Inventory Management and adjacent financial modules.
Architecturally the program moved EBS from a single tenant hosted data center to AWS, beginning with a development and test environment on cloud infrastructure before a production cutover. American Commercial Barge Line retained integrations between EBS and several other internal applications, and selected Apps Associates as the migration partner for their combined Oracle EBS and AWS expertise. The migration plan included two passes of migration and integration testing to validate interfaces and data integrity.
Governance and rollout followed a three month migration schedule, with staged testing cycles and a planned production migration window. The production migration executed smoothly and the transition downtime was four hours, supporting continued use of EBS by employees across the United States. Inventory Management remained a mission critical application within ACLs operational and financial processes throughout the cloud migration.
