In 2018 Occidental Petroleum Corporation deployed Oracle PeopleSoft Workforce Planning to strengthen its Workforce Analytics capabilities. The deployment focused on enterprise workforce planning and headcount governance within HR functions supporting Permian Resources and Health and Environmental Safety leadership.

The implementation included explicit integration and operational coordination with the company HRIS team and with TALEO for staffing requisitions and reporting, with HRIS responsible for auditing and updating PeopleSoft data. Operational scope included HR teams serving Permian Resources and Health and Environmental Safety directors, and coordination across corporate headquarters and field offices during town halls and HR special projects.

In 2015, Sembcorp Marine implemented Oracle PeopleSoft Workforce Planning. The deployment used Oracle PeopleSoft Workforce Planning as a Workforce Analytics application to support HRIS and HR Shared Services. The program supported Central HR Processing and operational teams across seven yards, Admiralty, Benoi, Pandan, Tanjong Kling, Tuas Boulevard, Tuas Crescent and Tuas Road, with an active implementation and operational support window from December 2015 to December 2016. This positioned the application to serve core HR and workforce planning functions across multiple shipyard sites.
Configuration work covered ten PeopleSoft modules including Workforce Administration, Profile Management, Contract Administration, Global Payroll, Global Absence, Enterprise Learning Management, Labour Administration, E-Performance, Salary Planning and Career Succession Planning. Two bespoke applications, a Time Management System and a Claims Management System, were implemented alongside PeopleSoft modules to handle specialized operational workflows. HCM setup activity focused on position data, including creation and updating of positions, and the establishment of salary planning and succession planning data structures.
Operational tooling and integration included use of User Productivity Kit Developer to record step-by-step process guidance, and import of Standard Operating Procedures into the UPK Knowledge Center with managed user access. Identity Management was used to track employees PeopleSoft access and to submit access requests on behalf of users, and PeopleSoft Query Viewer was used to generate ad hoc queries. Reporting and analytics workflows consolidated information from multiple sources, explicitly including Microsoft Excel using Vlookup and Pivot Table techniques, and the UAT environment was tested prior to go live.
Governance and process controls produced 17 HRIS System Operating Procedures covering the ten PeopleSoft modules and the two bespoke applications, with responsibility for timely documentation updates and record maintenance. HRIS administrators and Central HR Processing staff were coached on system operation and post-implementation support, and review processes were established to identify opportunities to streamline reporting and automate routine HRIS tasks. The effort centralized HRIS procedures, access governance and workforce reporting under Oracle PeopleSoft Workforce Planning within Sembcorp Marines HR organization.
