Marks & Spencer_x000D_ | Retail | 64000 | $18.1B | United Kingdom | Stibo Systems | Stibo MDM | Master Data Management | 2024 | n/a |
In 2024, Marks & Spencer implemented Stibo MDM as its Product MDM solution in the Master Data Management category to establish a single source of product data and automate product launch processes on its website. Stibo MDM provided a centralized Product MDM implementation that addressed data quality and manual keying issues while enabling tailored assortments for different countries and selling channels.
The deployment configured Stibo MDM with structured product attributes, product information management capabilities, and built-in workflow functionality to manage enrichment and publication of product records into selling hierarchies. The Stibo MDM implementation emphasized PIM-style attribute modeling and workflow orchestration to enforce consistent product data and reduce duplicate entry across merchandising and eCommerce processes.
Operational rollout began with a UK go-live followed by an international deployment to support eight M&S international sites and five languages, covering approximately 20,000 products and the company’s web, tablet, and smartphone channels. The program was staffed by the product information group and the M&S.com development team, who ran a period of dual operation while adding product attributes and integrating records into the new selling hierarchies.
Governance focused on workflow-driven enrichment and publication controls, with teams adding hundreds of products weekly during the transition period. As a result of the Stibo MDM deployment, Marks & Spencer gained a single system for product data instead of two, more consistent attribute structures, fewer manual data entry steps, and automated processes for launching products on their website, enabling faster market publication and reduced error rates.

Screwfix Direct | Retail | 14000 | $3.3B | United Kingdom | Stibo Systems | Stibo MDM | Master Data Management | 2024 | n/a |
In 2024 Screwfix Direct implemented Stibo MDM as an enterprise-wide Master Data Management solution, creating a central repository for all product data and attributes to support both B2B and B2C operations. The deployment was positioned to improve speed-to-market and pricing integrity across Screwfix’s multichannel retail footprint, which processes over 70,000 orders and dispatches more than 80,000 parcels in a typical week.
The Stibo MDM implementation consolidated product content, catalog production workflows, and multichannel publishing capabilities into a single product MDM platform. Functional capabilities implemented include a central product content repository, automated catalog generation and brand indexing, support for extended product documentation such as instruction manuals and COSHH sheets, and an automated price checking mechanism that publishes best-price information to online channels.
Stibo MDM was integrated with four operational systems through simultaneous links to Screwfix’s warehouse management system, the customer order management system, the supply chain management system and the public website www.screwfix.com. These integrations extend the Master Data Management domain into warehouse operations, order orchestration, supply chain visibility and front-end commerce, enabling consistent product and pricing information across print and digital channels.
Governance and process changes centered on treating product information management as a strategic business capability, using Stibo MDM as the single source of product content and a backbone for multichannel publishing. Catalog production and pricing workflows were restructured to leverage automated price checking and centralized product attributes, enabling rapid promotional material creation. Explicit outcomes reported include expanding the brand and product index from two pages to nine pages while reducing production time from several days to one hour, and producing a 48-page power tool catalog within two weeks, with improved speed and pricing integrity.
