The Stone Edge implementation at Grays was delivered as the Enterprise version 5.612 of Stone Edge and was positioned to manage order capture, fulfillment orchestration, inventory allocation, returns processing and drop-ship reconciliation within the retailer's operational stack.
Configuration and functional scope included standard Order Management capabilities such as sales order processing, receiving stock and reconciliation of received items, processing refunds and returns, and maintaining a claims register. Functional workflows reflected accounting touchpoints, including generation of accounts payable reports, rebate identification and reconciliation tied to purchase orders, and support for accrual and month end journal activity as part of financial close processes.
The deployment was integrated with the retailer's ERP environment, specifically Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0, to align inventory status and financial posting for accounts payable and general ledger reconciliation. Operational coverage focused on finance, stock control, purchasing and warehouse operations at Grays, with day to day execution handled by accounting and operations staff based in Sydney, Australia.
Governance and process changes emphasized tighter month end routines and reconciliations, including fixed asset and balance sheet reconciliation support from accounting staff. Operational ownership rested with the finance and stock control teams, with the assistant accountant role providing ongoing transaction processing, claims follow up and reporting to the manager accountant as part of the rollout and steady state operations.
