The deployment focused on centralizing contract creation, negotiation, and storage for materials sourcing while preserving a separate Ariba Sourcing System for competitive bidding activities. Corcentric Determine Selectica Contract Lifecycle Management was configured to support contract authoring, approval workflows, vendor onboarding, and negotiation of payment terms, with explicit support for purchase price variance analysis and raw materials price forecasting processes. Standard Contract Lifecycle Management capabilities such as a centralized contract repository, workflow automation for approvals, and template-driven authoring were used to standardize contracting for locally managed materials purchases. The implementation integrated contracting activities with the Ariba Sourcing System by establishing a sourcing-to-contract handoff and synchronizing vendor approval status and negotiated payment terms between systems. Operational coverage included procurement and materials management teams responsible for locally managed materials, aligning bidding in Ariba with contract execution in Selectica. Governance and process changes formalized the new vendor approval process and embedded payment term negotiation into the contract lifecycle, and the CLM instance was instrumented to support materials cost reduction initiatives and projects. The deployment explicitly supported boosting company productivity through targeted materials cost initiatives, purchase price variance analysis, and a raw materials price forecasting process.
