City of Cambridge | Government | 731 | $173M | Canada | SAP | SAP BusinessObjects Lumira | Analytics and BI | 2019 | n/a | In 2019 City of Cambridge implemented SAP BusinessObjects Lumira as part of its Analytics and BI portfolio for municipal reporting and visualization. The deployment was driven by an inhouse SAP Basis Administrator Architect who was assigned responsibility for implementation, upgrade, security and ongoing improvements across the city IT environment. SAP BusinessObjects Lumira was configured alongside SAP BO 4.3 hosted on cloud through CAL, and integrated into a broader analytics stack that included SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere. Implementation work centered on data visualization, self service reporting, dashboarding and scheduled reporting capabilities, aligned with SAP platform management tasks documented by the SAP Basis Administrator Architect. The deployment architecture referenced cloud and platform components such as SAP on RISE, HANA Cloud on AWS and an SAP BTP setup, with Solution Manager on HANA used for platform lifecycle management. Enablement and user assistance were supported through SAP EnableNOW, creating a connected chain from HANA data services to Lumira and SAP Analytics Cloud for consumption by municipal stakeholders. Governance and operational ownership remained with the City of Cambridge SAP operations team in Ontario, with the SAP Basis Administrator Architect leading configuration, security hardening, upgrades and continuous platform improvements. The implementation tied SAP BusinessObjects Lumira into the citys enterprise analytics function and established platform level controls and administration processes for Analytics and BI workloads.

City of Cambridge | Government | 731 | $173M | Canada | SAP | SAP Datasphere | Data Warehouse | 2019 | n/a | In 2019 City of Cambridge implemented SAP Datasphere as its Data Warehouse. The deployment used HANA Cloud on AWS for core data processing and SAP BO 4.3 on cloud through CAL for business intelligence delivery, positioning SAP Datasphere to centralize municipal datasets for reporting and governance. The implementation emphasized standard data warehouse capabilities, including data modeling, data integration pipelines, metadata and semantic layer orchestration, and dataset provisioning to BI consumers. SAP Datasphere was configured to integrate with S/4HANA, Fiori 6.0, Solution Manager on HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP BOBJ, SAP Lumira, SAP EnableNOW, and SAP BTP, enabling published datasets to feed departmental reporting and analytics. HANA Cloud on AWS served as the scalable compute and storage tier while SAP BTP provided platform services and orchestration for data workflows. Operational governance was led by an SAP Basis Administrator Architect at City of Cambridge Ontario, accountable for implementation, upgrades, security and continuous improvements across S/4HANA, SAP Datasphere and adjacent SAP components. The rollout approach focused on upgrade coordination, security hardening and integration validation across municipal finance and operational functions. Platform administration and data access patterns were centralized to support consistent reporting, dataset governance and ongoing platform maintenance.
