The deployment targeted general county administration, schools, highway, and sheriff's departments, covering approximately 3,300 employees and retirees. A consultant to Blount County developed the program plan and led execution for the project. The technical implementation used Kronos 7.0 WTK and focused on HR and payroll installation, with emphasis on workforce timekeeping and employee record management. Workstreams included end-to-end development, configuration, and validation of payroll processing and HR data models. A dedicated team of eight led development, testing, and rollout activities to accelerate delivery. Project planning and coordination were managed using Microsoft Project 2010 and SmartSheet to support a multi-phase, multi-department rollout. These planning artifacts structured phased cutovers to align payroll cycles and HR workflows across departments, and they guided test scripts and cutover checklists. The implementation scope explicitly included manager-facing tools and the creation of training materials. Governance emphasized centralized testing, staged rollout coordination, and manager training, with materials developed and training conducted for all managers prior to go-live. The project completed development, testing, and full rollout in less than four months. The engagement also included assistance evaluating other existing systems for potential upgrade.
