TAP Air Portugal | Transportation | 7300 | $3.3B | Portugal | IBM | IBM FileNet Content Manager | Content Management | 2017 | n/a | In 2017, TAP Air Portugal implemented IBM FileNet Content Manager as its Content Management platform. The engagement targeted enterprise content handling needs across the airline, aligning document controls with TAP’s corporate and operational documentation requirements for a 7,300 employee transportation organization based in Portugal. The implementation configured core IBM FileNet Content Manager capabilities including document management, records management, metadata indexing and workflow orchestration to enforce content lifecycle and compliance-oriented processes. Development work included Java J2EE integration, with custom J2EE components built to support content capture, transactional document handling and metadata-driven routing into FileNet repositories. Architecturally the deployment used IBM FileNet Content Manager services and APIs to expose managed content to J2EE applications and to automate business processes that span content and transactional systems. Governance was structured through configured access controls and retention rules, and the rollout followed consultant-led configuration, testing and operational handover phases driven by the consultant working on the TAP Air Portugal engagement. | |
