Clasen Quality Chocolate | Consumer Packaged Goods | 465 | $160M | United States | Business Forecast Systems | Forecast Pro | Demand Forecasting and Planning | 2018 | n/a | Clasen Quality Chocolate implemented Forecast Pro in 2018 from Business Forecast Systems to operationalize Demand Forecasting and Planning. The deployment centered on the Demand Planning Manager and Sales and Operations Manager in the Madison, Wisconsin area, with the application used to create and maintain SKU level statistical forecasts and to support consensus planning workflows. Forecast Pro was configured to produce SKU level statistical models, maintain forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation, and generate unconstrained demand outputs for Supply and Operations. Functional capabilities implemented included incorporation of Sales and Marketing inputs for promotional activity, new and lost distributions, ongoing model refinement based on variance analysis, and the maintenance of demand planning datasets within Forecast Pro. Operational coverage focused on embedding the tool into the company S&OP cadence, enabling collaborative planning sessions between Demand Planning and Commercial Sales to achieve a consensus demand forecast, and delivering forecast outputs to Supply and Operations for production and inventory control. The system was used to review historic sales trends, promotional impacts, and product lifecycle events as part of routine planning reviews. Governance changes accompanying the implementation included the design and rollout of a beginning-to-end S&OP process and associated performance measurements to assist management in evaluating business objectives. The Demand Planning Manager executed the demand planning process within the new S&OP framework, reconciled significant forecast variances, and maintained Forecast Pro as the central tool for statistical forecasting and ongoing model adjustments. | |
