Platypus Shoes Retail 319 $85M Australia ConnX ConnX Leave Management Absence and Leave Management 2018 n/a In 2018, Platypus Shoes deployed ConnX Leave Management as its Absence and Leave Management solution across retail operations. The rollout targeted store managers and the central HR function for the 319-employee Australian footwear chain, extending coverage to individual retail sites and regional management nodes to centralize leave records and approval accountability. ConnX Leave Management was configured around standard Absence and Leave Management capabilities, including employee self-service leave requests, manager approval workflows, configurable absence types and accrual rules, leave balance visibility, and exception reporting with audit trails. Configuration emphasized alignment with store rostering and TimeTeq approval practices to ensure leave events mapped to shift schedules and manager authorizations. Operational scope included store-level managers responsible for rostering, banking duties and key holder coverage, inventory control and visual merchandising continuity, with HR overseeing policy enforcement and reporting. The implementation approach used a pilot in a deep-dive underperforming store to validate approval workflows and manager self-service before broader store rollouts, and training targeted manager approvals, absence recording procedures and payroll handover practices. Governance and workflow changes formalized role based access for managers and HR, standardized approval routing for time off, and introduced audit and reporting cadence for absence trends. Rollout emphasis was on embedding leave processes into retail operational routines, preserving continuity for cash handling and POS competent duties during staff absences while creating a single source of record for leave administration.
