Clif Bar Consumer Packaged Goods 1500 $530M United States Extensiv 3PL Warehouse Manager Warehouse Management 2016 n/a In 2016, Clif Bar implemented Extensiv 3PL Warehouse Manager as its Warehouse Management solution. The deployment targeted management of inbound receiving, inventory custody, and cross-warehouse movements between an offsite 3PL warehouse and the company bakery in Indianapolis, enabling tighter control of material flow and storage. Configuration centered on standard Warehouse Management functional capabilities within 3PL Warehouse Manager, including receiving and putaway workflows, inventory tracking and reconciliation, FEFO lot control, cross-warehouse transfer rules, and daily and weekly operational reporting. Planning parameters were tuned for a roughly $10M materials pipeline to enforce transfer limitations, vendor reliability constraints, and inventory accuracy thresholds. The 3PL Warehouse Manager was integrated with JD Edwards for purchase order creation and for entering receivers into the offsite warehouse inventory, establishing a synchronized data flow between the 3PL WMS and the ERP. This integration supported daily inbound paperwork capture, automated receiver posting, and reconciliation routines to maintain inventory accuracy between systems. Governance and process changes accompanied the technical implementation, including formalized daily and weekly reporting cadences, stewardship by inventory analysts, training of back-up planners, and ongoing business relationship management with the 3PL warehouse team. Operational controls and the WMS to JDE reconciliation process contributed to year-end inventory audit results exceeding 98 percent accuracy over a multiyear period.
