Michelin Group | Automotive | 125000 | $18.9B | France | Blue Yonder | Blue Yonder Sales and Operations Planning (ex JDA Sales and Operations Planning) | S&OP | 2018 | n/a | In 2018, Michelin Group deployed Blue Yonder Sales and Operations Planning (ex JDA Sales and Operations Planning) to support organization-wide transformation and to accelerate integrated business planning, implementing the solution as part of the JDA Manufacturing Planning suite. The initiative targeted S&OP capabilities across Michelin's global manufacturing and supply chain footprint, aligning planning across commercial, supply chain and production functions for a coordinated planning approach. The Blue Yonder Sales and Operations Planning implementation focused on standard S&OP functional modules typical for the category, including demand consensus workflows, supply planning and balancing, scenario modeling for capacity and material constraints, and inventory planning and visibility. Configuration work emphasized reusable planning templates, rule-based orchestration of planning runs, and exception-based alerts to support a regular planning cadence across business units. Deployment architecture was delivered as a centralized planning platform integrated into Michelin's manufacturing planning environment, while supporting distributed operational coverage across 68 production plants in 17 countries and commercial teams present in more than 170 countries. The implementation connected S&OP processes to manufacturing planning and commercial forecasting workflows, enabling cross-site planning orchestration without naming specific point integrations or third party systems. Governance changes accompanied the technical deployment, formalizing an integrated business planning cadence and cross-functional decision forums to operationalize S&OP outputs into production and supply chain execution. Michelin positioned Blue Yonder Sales and Operations Planning to serve as the enterprise S&OP backbone, supporting ongoing transformation objectives and the acceleration of integrated business planning across its global operations. | |
