Aetna Better Health Insurance 3500 $650M United States UKG UKG Workforce Central HR (ex Kronos Workforce HR) Core HR 2012 n/a In 2012, Aetna Better Health implemented UKG Workforce Central HR (ex Kronos Workforce HR) as its Core HR solution to centralize timekeeping, payroll interfaces, and absence management across hourly workforces. The engagement covered Workforce Central versions 6.0 through 7.0 and included hands-on implementation, support, analysis, and change management for the core WFC environment. The implementation included configuration and operationalization of calculated accruals, absence management, Workforce Device Manager, Data Collection Manager, SDM, WIM, Process Manager, and Advanced Scheduler, plus Kronos Workforce Payroll, Benefits, and Human Resources modules. Technical work produced payrules, workrules, paycode profiles, paycodes, wage profiles, FAPs, schedules, labor levels and labor level sets, and configuration of Kronos 4500 and 4800 timeclock devices using WDM and DCM. Integrations were built to move employee and time data into downstream payroll systems, including exports to Payroll SAP and ADP and imports from PeopleSoft, with WIM interfaces handling inbound employee demographics and outbound payroll hours and wage data. The project installed and tested Kronos Connect and multiple WFC releases on client servers, and configured and tested a general ledger interface to payroll, plus parallel-instance payroll database testing and query-based reconciliations for migration validation. Governance and operational readiness included serving as liaison between business stakeholders and the internal UKG Kronos technical team, providing Tier II production support for timekeeping, leave, and Advanced Scheduler, and creating training materials. The team conducted extensive functional unit testing, coordinated end-user acceptance testing for supervisors and payroll personnel, maintained holiday calendars and access profiles, and configured shift differentials, accrual plans and benefit plan setups. The Advanced Scheduler was implemented to reduce unnecessary manual processing costs and to mitigate potential employee relations issues when schedules are not processed correctly, and recommendations were provided to the business to optimize Kronos configurations. UKG Workforce Central HR (ex Kronos Workforce HR) operated as the Core HR backbone for timekeeping and workforce administration across the supported sites and hospital implementations.
