Arqiva | Communications | 2300 | $368M | United Kingdom | Oracle | Oracle Cloud EPM | EPM | 2023 |
In 2023, Arqiva implemented Oracle Cloud EPM as part of a finance transformation to re-implement budgeting, forecasting and reporting across the business. The deployment uses Oracle Cloud EPM in the EPM category and was selected following a 2019 RFP, with Brovanture engaged as the implementation partner to lead the planning consolidation program.
Prior to the cloud deployment Arqiva had operated Oracle Hyperion Planning on premises for over 10 years, and that estate had expanded from a single application to 12 production applications by 2019. The Oracle Cloud EPM implementation consolidated the planning footprint, reconfigured budgeting and forecasting modules, standardized reporting workflows, and introduced role based planning and automation to address inconsistent models and manual metadata processes.
The program was scoped alongside a re implementation of Oracle EBS ERP to align financial planning flows with ERP master data and ledger structures, and to centralize data and metadata integration across systems. Integration work focused on establishing reliable system to system data feeds and restoring office based analysis workflows that had previously been constrained, with architecture centered on cloud native EPM planning services.
Governance and process changes were core to the rollout, with Brovanture working to formalize role based access, reduce reliance on a small number of employees and external specialists, and simplify maintenance of planning applications. The case documentation highlights the pre implementation challenges the deployment sought to resolve, including complicated maintenance of multiple disparate applications, manual data and metadata integration, high dependence on a few experts, lack of role based planning, and manual processes that increased the risk of errors.

Channel 4 | Media | 1197 | $1.4B | United Kingdom | Oracle | Oracle Hyperion | EPM | 2009 |
In 2009, Channel 4 engaged Brovanture to stabilise and optimise Oracle Hyperion Planning as its EPM solution. The project had been progressing in a traditional waterfall approach and was experiencing low finance team acceptance both as users and administrators, so the primary objective was to deliver a single planning system with actual data available and updated hourly to make budgeting and forecasting workflow more accessible.
Oracle Hyperion Planning was implemented to centralise budgeting, planning and forecasting capabilities, with configuration work focused on modelling flexible planning structures, role-based administration and automated data refreshes to support hourly actuals. The implementation emphasized the enterprise planning aspects of the EPM category, ensuring the application could accept frequent actuals and permit rapid extraction of budget and forecast views for decision making.
Brovanture supplied experienced Hyperion Planning specialists who stabilised and optimised the application, translating Channel 4 finance processes into operational configurations and rebuilding user and administrator confidence. The boutique consultant profile matched Channel 4 procurement preferences for smaller, specialist vendors and allowed for hands-on remediation of acceptance and administrative usability issues.
Governance changes concentrated on establishing Oracle Hyperion as the single source of truth for finance planning, reshaping workflows within the finance function to route budgets and forecasts into Hyperion Planning and defining administrative ownership for ongoing maintenance. As a result, Channel 4 achieved the stated goal of making it easier for end users to load budget and forecast data and to extract the information needed to support business decisions.

Channel 4 | Media | 1197 | $1.4B | United Kingdom | Oracle | Oracle Hyperion Planning | EPM | 2009 |
In 2009, Channel 4 engaged Brovanture to complete and accelerate its Oracle Hyperion Planning implementation. Oracle Hyperion Planning is an Enterprise application in the EPM category and was positioned to centralize budgeting, planning and forecasting processes across the broadcaster's finance function.
Brovanture provided implementation services to formalize planning models, configure budgeting and forecasting workflows, and implement driver based planning constructs and input forms consistent with enterprise EPM practice. The implementation emphasized planning model configuration, versioning and workflow orchestration to move beyond the smaller planning application Channel 4 had been using, because Oracle Hyperion Planning is a long way removed from the planning application they were seeking to replace.
The project targeted finance and FP&A processes to standardize planning processes and introduce enterprise grade planning controls, governance and auditability. Channel 4 anticipated that Oracle Hyperion Planning would add significant value to its budgeting, planning and forecasting activity and Brovanture supported the rollout to embed the new EPM workflows.
