BaptistCare | Non Profit | 12000 | $465M | Australia | Totara Learning | Totara LMS | Learning and Development | 2018 |
In 2018, BaptistCare implemented Totara LMS using the Totara Learn Kineo Edition Managed Service to centralise learning and compliance across its aged care, care at home, disability support and community services workforce. The program targeted a workforce of more than 12,000 staff and volunteers and now supports 8,000 active users across New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Western Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, aligning the Totara LMS deployment with the organisation’s Learning and Development requirements.
Implementation delivered a suite of configured modules including role based onboarding, compliance management, audience management, administration roles, reports and dashboards, branded navigation and a custom My Learning web interface. Content migration consolidated diverse libraries from Kineo, Altura and internal repositories into Totara LMS, and microlearning, blended learning, seminar courses and webinar recordings were integrated to support multi modal learning and clinical, business and leadership curricula.
Integrations were implemented with a volunteer CRM, HR and financial systems via T1 and the talent management platform PageUp, enabling automated enrolments and employee setup driven by role data. Data migration, pre and post go live checks and real time reporting were part of the delivery, with on demand and customised reports exposed to managers to track mandatory training and compliance across operational sites.
Governance was formalised through a cross business streams working group and a clear training and communication strategy for learners, managers and administrators, with Kineo operating as the implementation partner. The rollout completed in six months on time and within budget under a multi year agreement with Kineo, which reduced licensing exposure and locked pricing; automated reporting replaced manual spreadsheets and notifications reduced manual follow up.
Outcomes reported by BaptistCare include lower licensing fees and cost reductions from shifting face to face courses online, rapid compliance uptake with 1,600 employees completing IT security training within four weeks and 88 percent staff engagement, and improved manager accountability via real time tracking. The Totara LMS implementation remains a scalable Learning and Development platform for ongoing enhancements to learner experience, search and access, enabling BaptistCare to broaden the system beyond compliance into wider workforce development.
