Aruba Airport Authority Transportation 200 $55M Aruba IBM IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management 2017
In 2017, Aruba Airport Authority implemented IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management platform and moved to an in-house Maximo installation to gain direct control over operational data. After years of having a third-party vendor manage its Maximo environment, the airport elected to own its data and re-implement IBM Maximo with Interloc Solutions, driven by CMMS Administrator Monique Palm’s mandate that data drives decisions. The re-implementation centered on IBM Maximo core EAM capabilities and Interloc’s Mobile Informer mobility stack, including the Informer Work Management application for mobile work order lifecycle handling, asset and materials management, preventive maintenance planning, job plans and contract records. The deployment supported offline and online mobile technician workflows, assignment of work orders directly to technicians or maintenance providers, and a refreshed asset master built to the airport’s specifications. Operational coverage targeted airport maintenance and facilities functions, with implementation work coordinated between Aruba Airport Authority maintenance teams and external maintenance providers. The selection of Interloc Solutions followed peer benchmarking visits to Schiphol and JFK International Terminal where Interloc’s Mobile Informer over Maximo approach demonstrated airport-specific EAM practices, informing configuration and mobile workflow design for terminal and airside assets. Governance and rollout were deliberate, the airport deciding not to import legacy records and instead spending eight months to manually recreate assets, enter maintenance plans, contracts and job plans, and collaborate with new maintenance providers. The go-live delivered immediate, stated benefits, including elimination of paper-based work order processes, improved data accuracy and availability, and the ability to adjust preventive maintenance cadence, for example moving certain air handling unit PMs from quarterly to bi-monthly which reduced recurrent breakdowns, illustrating how IBM Maximo and Mobile Informer supported better maintenance decision making.
Bay Area Rapid Transit Transportation 4000 $620M United States IBM IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management 2010
In 2010, Bay Area Rapid Transit implemented IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management application, with Interloc Solutions leading the delivery of near real time asset availability and materials intelligence. The first phase focused on Materials Management across two main hub warehouses and six spoke operations that support heavy end of line maintenance and component facilities, establishing a central system of record for parts and inventory flows. IBM Maximo was configured to support automated reorder processing and inventory control workflows, and the implementation included material issue, return, transfer, reorder, and cycle counting capabilities. A mobile component was deployed to support the mobile workforce, enabling field technicians to issue, return, transfer, reorder, and perform cycle counts using infrared enabled devices to read bins and barcode part information. The implementation included comprehensive integration with PeopleSoft for financial transactions, company and vendor records, Item Master synchronization, and human resource records to align inventory and transactional data with enterprise finance and HR systems. Maintenance Management functionality rollout for 11 functional departments commenced in December 2010 and was scheduled to complete in April 2011, and as of January 19, 2011 five departments were live on Maximo for Transportation. Interloc Solutions implemented configuration and mobile work management patterns that centralized materials chain processes and modernized administrative support for operations and business functions. Program leadership framed the delivery as an administrative modernization effort, with Program Director Randall Franklin stating that the new tools were an important part of modernizing administrative systems that support both operations and business need, and that this was the most trouble free implementation in the BAP to date. Explicit outcomes included near real time visibility to asset availability and an automated reorder process that will enable enhanced inventory management in a proactive and cost effective manner. The combined IBM Maximo and mobile deployment established a unified Enterprise Asset Management platform supporting materials management and maintenance operations across BART departments.
Leidos Aerospace and Defense 47000 $16.7B United States IBM IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management 2015
In 2015, Leidos deployed IBM Maximo as an Enterprise Asset Management solution to consolidate maintenance and field operations for thousands of high value assets across more than 450 distributed locations in the federal space. The IBM Maximo implementation targeted near real time visibility and 100 percent field performance transparency to support performance based contracting and strengthened cyber security requirements after notable federal breaches. Leidos engaged Interloc Solutions to extend IBM Maximo with the Mobile Informer platform, embedding the Mobile Informer application within the existing Maximo framework without middleware. The implementation delivered purpose built, native mobile apps with an offline first design, role based workflows and customizable user role and permission settings, plus asset health monitoring and KPI instrumentation to provide traceable metrics for PCB evaluation and operational uptime monitoring. Architecturally the solution leveraged Maximo and Oracle security models and centralized security management to reduce attack surface, using database and architecture level controls rather than distributed security points. Mobile Informer was configured to meet NIST 800.53 R4 compliance, provide end to end encryption including data at rest on devices, and support multi factor authentication via PIV CAC card compliance, which collectively reduced external vulnerabilities from web interfaces. Operational scope covered field maintenance and high risk enterprise workforce activities across Leidos sites, with governance enforced through role based access controls, traceable KPIs, and workflow redesign to align mobile tasks with back office asset management processes. Interloc Solutions provided Maximo focused implementation services and the custom Mobile Informer solution, enabling the application to scale through native development tools as operational needs evolve. Outcomes recorded in the engagement included full user adoption of the native Mobile Informer apps, encrypted end to end data flows, and up to the minute insight for critical decision making. IBM Maximo as implemented with Mobile Informer served as the Enterprise Asset Management platform for Leidos, centralizing mobile asset management and security governance for a dispersed federal workforce.
