In 2019 Alinta Asset Management Australia implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as its core financial system, categorized under ERP Financial. Mastek led the project delivery and concurrently implemented Oracle Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud modules to support planning and reconciliation workflows tied to the ERP.
The implementation combined Oracle Cloud ERP as the authoritative transactional ledger with EPBCS modules deployed for Financial, Workforce, Projects, Capex, Power Generation, Retail, Wholesale and Reporting. The EPBCS deployment was configured to standardize multiple budgeting models while retaining flexibility for contract specific requirements, enabling automated rollover of forecast cycles and structured balance sheet planning.
Integrations were established from the Oracle Cloud ERP and other third party systems into EPBCS, Financial Consolidation and Close, and Account Reconciliation Cloud Service, providing automated data flow across retail, wholesale and PowerGen functions. The solution supported day and half hour level planning by turbine, site and contract to accommodate PowerGen operational scheduling and differentiated budgeting for each power purchase agreement.
Project governance used an incremental sprint approach, with Sprint 1 deployed to secure FP&A buy in and overcome initial change resistance from business partners. The governance model included audit trail, security management and what if analysis capabilities within the planning environment, and standardized processes for projects, CapEx and workforce planning across the organization.
Outcomes documented by the engagement include movement from quarterly to monthly forecasting cadence, automated forecast rollover, elimination of manual reconciliations through integrated data flows between retail, wholesale and PowerGen functions, and consolidated support for balance sheet planning. These outcomes were enabled by the combined Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle EPM Cloud architecture delivered by Mastek.
