In 2001, Kroschke Sign International GmbH operated SAP R/3 as its ERP Financial platform and centralized maintenance activities for the SAP landscape. The SAP R/3 environment had been productive since 1998 and supported the company business including wholesale distribution, an online shop, and manufacturing of signs and labels.
The implementation included SAP modules FI, AA, CO, MM, SD, PP, VC, WM and HR-PA, together with an online store integration, providing core capabilities for finance and accounting, fixed asset accounting, controlling, materials management, sales and distribution, production planning, variant configuration, warehouse management and personnel administration. Standard ERP workflows such as order to cash, procure to pay, record to report and hire to retire were supported through configured module interactions and reporting capabilities in SAP R/3.
The technical deployment ran on IBM AS/400 with DB2 for OS400 and supported approximately 170 SAP R/3 users. NTT Data is recorded as the system integrator and value added reseller, while operational maintenance responsibility was taken over by Itelligence on 01.06.2001, reflecting a split between implementation partner and ongoing support provider. Operational coverage spanned finance, logistics, production and HR functions, and the online store was operated as part of the SAP landscape.
Governance updates included the maintenance handover to Itelligence and continued use of integrated standard software across commercial and manufacturing functions. Customer stated benefits included integrated information management, flexible evaluation options and having integrated standard software, which aligned with the Intelligent ERP theme for the distribution and metalworking industry segments.
