TUI United Kingdom | Leisure and Hospitality | 11000 | $3.5B | United Kingdom | SAP | SAP Commerce Cloud (ex Hybris) | eCommerce | 2012 | In 2012, TUI United Kingdom implemented SAP Commerce Cloud (ex Hybris) to support its eCommerce platform. The deployment has been operated and incrementally enhanced from the Luton engineering center, with Sonata Software engaged as the implementation partner and a Hybris 1811 environment referenced in ongoing development work. The SAP Commerce Cloud (ex Hybris) implementation covers core eCommerce functional areas including storefront and checkout workflows, order management, customer account and authentication, and promotional incentives. During pandemic-driven change, the team prioritized enhancements to refund processing, issuing credit notes, incentive handling and program change support, reflecting category-aligned order lifecycle and customer service workflows within eCommerce. Integrations were explicitly extended to customer identity services, with a Gigya integration implemented to enable existing Gigya ID authentication as part of phase one. Subsequent phases were planned to enable social media login providers including Gmail and Facebook to broaden authentication channels for customers. Development governance followed Agile Scrum, with an onshore technical lead based in Luton coordinating requirements with BAs and Product Owners, executing pre-sprint clarification, and preparing data setup for delivery teams. Responsibilities included high level design for complex requirements, making initial changes to surface-critical issues early, and sequencing work into phased releases to limit customer impact. Operational coverage emphasized customer-facing commerce and order operations, with technical ownership focused on authentication flows, order change and refund automation, and promotions configuration. The implementation narrative documents an evolving SAP Commerce Cloud eCommerce platform managed through iterative Agile processes and phased integration of identity providers. | |
