Biasi UK | Manufacturing | 130 | $10M | United Kingdom | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central | ERP Financial | 2019 |
In 2019 Biasi UK implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as its core ERP Financial platform. The implementation targeted the UK subsidiary whose commercial model distributes central heating equipment through independent and national merchants, and it was positioned to centralize finance and inventory control for a business with approximately 130 employees and a stock investment of around £4-5m.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central was configured to support core financial modules and accounting workflows that the finance director had been executing manually, including general journal postings, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, bank postings and cash management, alongside budgeting and forecasting. Inventory and stock control capabilities were deployed to improve stock turn reporting and to provide data feeds for management information, while Jet Reports and Advanced Excel were used to extract and format operational KPIs such as debtor days, stock turn ratios and cash flow forecasts.
The Business Central rollout was executed alongside Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Office 365, with Jet Reports integrated as the reporting layer to produce monthly KPI packs delivered to the board in Italy. Payroll remained managed outside Business Central using Sage and the cloud based Brightpay system, and VAT compliance workflows including Making Tax Digital, Intrastat, EC Sales and deferment VAT account processes for imports were supported by the new ERP and adjacent processes. Technology Management acted as the system integrator for the implementation.
Governance and operational ownership rested with the finance director reporting into the CEO, CFO and the International Commercial Director in Italy, with process changes around month end close, bank reconciliation and VAT reporting formalized during rollout. Implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central produced documented efficiency savings for Biasi UK exceeding £50,000 per annum as part of wider system and process improvements.

Carvers Building Supplies | Distribution | 218 | $70M | United Kingdom | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central | ERP Financial | 2023 |
In 2023, Carvers Building Supplies integrated Podfather route planning and electronic proof of delivery into its Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP Financial environment to modernize transport operations. The rollout targets the Wolverhampton depot and a fleet of over 30 vehicles serving the West Midlands, reflecting a focused operational scope on distribution, planning, and customer delivery functions.
Podfather was deployed as a cloud-based back-office system with an easy-to-use driver app, configured to provide route optimisation, vehicle defect checks, driver tracking, ETA notifications, and electronic proof of delivery capture. Electronic POD data is passed into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to consolidate job, route and delivery records, maintaining Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the core ERP Financial record of transactions and delivery evidence.
The integration was delivered with support from Technology Management and implemented to create a single operational view for drivers and back-office staff, eliminating manual data entry and system switching. Architecturally the solution links Podfather’s cloud services and mobile app to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central instance, enabling near real-time exchange of POD and delivery status information and supporting transport planning workflows and customer service case handling.
Governance and process changes were centered on removing paper-based planning, reducing planning administration, and providing operational visibility across transport, planning, and customer service teams. The stated outcomes of the initiative are the eradication of paper tickets, lower administrative friction, improved operational visibility, and improved customer service through integrated electronic PODs and route management.
