Ellucian Legacy Ellucian Banner Human Resources Core HR HCM n/a 2007 2007
In 2007, Lamar University deployed Ellucian Banner Human Resources as part of a Unified Digital Campus initiative. The Core HR deployment concentrated on centralizing human resource records and standardizing HR transactional workflows across campus departments. Ellucian Banner Human Resources was configured to deliver typical Core HR capabilities including employee data management, position control, HR workflow automation, and personnel reporting, aligned with enterprise HR functional patterns. Configuration emphasis reflected the university IT requirement for a standard operating environment and high availability. The implementation was hosted in a campus data center architecture that incorporated Oracle Database RAC, application load balancing, and high availability provisions to support continuous access. The Banner HR rollout ran in concert with other Banner modules, with Finance going live in September 2007, Human Resources going live in December 2007, Student services scheduled for April 2009, and Financial Aid scheduled for March 2009, while Evisions and Appworx had already been rolled out under the Unified Digital Campus program. Governance and process planning were managed through the Unified Digital Campus program, which positioned the Ellucian Banner Human Resources deployment as an opportunity for business process transformation across HR, finance, and student administrative functions. Operational governance stressed phased sequencing, standard operating procedures, and infrastructure stability to support cross departmental workflows.
