In 2015, United Drug implemented SAP Business Suite to address ERP Financial requirements across the United Drug Group. The implementation was accompanied by a structured training and enablement program delivered by Novitas, positioned as the SAP training partner for multiple local and global SAP initiatives during that period.
Novitas developed and delivered over 70 SAP training courses in 2015, covering core SAP Business Suite modules including MM, SRM, WM, EWM, SD, PP, QM, FICO, and Vistex. Course delivery included classroom and eLearning formats, and onsite Level 1 and Level 2 standard project team training covering SAP Overview, FICO, MM and SD for project teams.
The program extended beyond finance into operational areas, with 2015 Logistics Tracking System Training aligned to warehouse and distribution workflows supported by WM and EWM modules. Prior engagements for the United Drug Group included a 2014 Sharepoint based project management tool rollout, a 2013 SAP Evolution Project for Sharp Clinical Service, and a 2012 SAP Implementation for The Specials Laboratories, reflecting a multi-year, multi-site enablement cadence.
Governance and program support were delivered as part of the EOS Programme, with Novitas providing SAP Project Management Support, SAP consultant support, comprehensive training needs analyses, and development of eLearning courseware. The combined delivery linked SAP Business Suite functional modules to business functions in finance, procurement, logistics, quality and sales while establishing a centralized training strategy and project team enablement framework.

In 2011 United Drug implemented SD Worx People as its Core HR system to centralize employee records and HR administration across the organization. The deployment followed a Sep 2010 to Jun 2011 program in Citywest, Dublin 24 that delivered Time and Attendance and a web based HR.net system across indigenous business units, providing the operational context for the SD Worx People rollout.
SD Worx People was configured to support core HR functions including employee master data, organizational structure and position management, absence and leave tracking, and manager and employee self service with workflow based approvals. Configuration work emphasized role based security and data stewardship to align HR operational processes with the Core HR application model.
Operational coverage targeted all indigenous business units, integrating HR recordkeeping with time capture processes that were part of the preceding program, and supporting HR and line manager workflows across Citywest operations. The implementation scope was focused on HR administration and time capture orchestration rather than broader enterprise resource systems.
Governance and rollout relied on documented system requirements, structured manager training, and stakeholder engagement to drive adoption, with the preceding HR.net and Time and Attendance program completed within the designated 10 month contract timeframe and within budget. Ongoing operational ownership centered on HR process standardization, requirements documentation, and manager level adherence to the new Core HR workflows implemented in SD Worx People.

In 2014, United Drug implemented IBM Cognos Analytics to centralize Analytics and BI capabilities across multiple Divisional and Group based initiatives. The engagement is documented with an Insights Manager role from January 2014 to present responsible for delivery and coordination of technical work, reflecting sustained stewardship of the IBM Cognos Analytics environment and Analytics and BI workflows.
Implementation included internal development and platform configuration centered on IBM Cognos Analytics, supported by ETL and database assets. The technical stack incorporated SSIS for data movement and transformation, a Microsoft SQL Server database for data storage and modeling, and Cognos report authoring and dashboarding for KPI systems. Data modelling and design work was emphasized to enable a guided analytics application intended for commercialization, aligning Cognos reporting artifacts with standardized KPI definitions.
Architecturally the deployment integrated SSIS pipelines feeding a SQL Server analytical store which in turn served IBM Cognos Analytics reporting and visualization layers. Operational responsibilities included third level support, coordination of support from external providers, and coordination of development efforts from external providers, indicating a hybrid delivery model combining internal build with outsourced contributions. The build targeted both Divisional and Group level coverage, enabling shared data models and centrally governed analytics artifacts.
Governance and operationalization were driven by an Insights Manager and BI consulting functions, including team management, architecture and design oversight, and coordination of development and support. The United Drug IBM Cognos Analytics Analytics and BI implementation explicitly supported KPI systems and data commercialization initiatives, with ongoing support and cross‑division rollout managed through defined technical coordination and third level support processes.
