A3 Modeling was configured to support model-driven master data governance and period close orchestration consistent with ERP functional workflows.
A3 Modeling was integrated operationally to control the ERP A3 ECO instance, creating a tight operational relationship between the modeling layer and the transactional A3 ECO platform. The scope emphasized finance and back-office functions, establishing a single control plane for financial configuration, chart of accounts management and reporting feeds into the A3 ECO operational stack.
Governance for the implementation emphasized centralized configuration management, role based access controls for finance and accounting teams, and documented change control procedures to manage updates to A3 Modeling that affect A3 ECO behavior. The program approach reflected an effort to institutionalize process ownership for ERP configuration and to standardize how changes to the A3 ECO environment are authorized and applied.

In 2009 Sun Life implemented A3 Modeling as the A3 Modeling Financial system within its Enterprise Resource Planning environment to support the central finance systems team. A3 Modeling delivered core financial modeling and planning capabilities configured for expense planning and workforce planning workflows, aligning budgeting, forecast iteration, and model-based scenario work with the finance organization. The implementation emphasized model configuration, version control of planning datasets, and role-based access to ensure the central finance systems team could operate consistent planning cycles across business units.
Sun Life co-managed the implementation, providing leadership and financial modeling support that coordinated configuration, testing, and rollout activities with internal finance stakeholders.
