City of Alliance Police Department | Government | 50 | $5M | United States | Aruba | Aruba SD-WAN | SD-WAN | 2015 | n/a |
In 2015, the City of Alliance Police Department implemented Aruba SD-WAN to virtualize its WAN and branch networking infrastructure. The deployment used Aruba SD-WAN in the SD-WAN category to consolidate branch connectivity and bring SD-Branch capabilities into the departmental network.
Engineered workstreams virtualized infrastructure components including VMware virtualization, HPE SDN for fabric control, Aruba SD-WAN and SD-Branch for overlay and branch orchestration, and Palo Alto virtual firewalls for virtualized security enforcement. Configuration work emphasized overlay orchestration, centralized policy management, and application aware routing consistent with SD-WAN functional patterns.
Integrations connected Aruba SD-WAN with on-prem VMware hosts and HPE SDN components, and integrated Palo Alto virtual firewall instances to enforce segmentation and security at the edge. Operational scope focused on network and infrastructure functions supporting the police department, with IT operations centralized to manage WAN orchestration, policy distribution, and virtualized security insertion. Governance and rollout were engineered to align virtualization, SD-Branch architecture, and firewall orchestration under a single network operations approach.

DAZN | Media | 2400 | $2.2B | United Kingdom | Aruba | Aruba SD-WAN | SD-WAN | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018, DAZN deployed Aruba SD-WAN as part of its enterprise networking program. The Aruba SD-WAN implementation targeted SD-WAN requirements for both enterprise network operations and live production network support at DAZN's Leeds operations in the United Kingdom.
The implementation centered on Aruba SD-WAN controllers and edge appliances orchestrating an overlay fabric, with configuration of application aware routing, centralized policy management, and segmentation to separate live production traffic from general corporate flows. Functional capabilities implemented included orchestration and provisioning, VPN overlay tunnels, policy based application steering, and centralized firmware and configuration management for edge devices.
Aruba SD-WAN was integrated into an existing heterogeneous network estate, interoperating with Cisco routing and switching platforms including Cisco ASR, Cisco 3850, 4500 and 2960x series, and Cisco Nexus 5k 7k 9k switches. The deployment also interfaced with F5 BIG-IP and Checkpoint firewall appliances for traffic security and load management, ClearPass for network access control, Aruba Wireless and WLC for wireless access continuity, Arista switches in data center segments, SolarWinds for monitoring and Lantronix console management for device access.
Operational scope and governance rested with DAZN network engineering and live production teams, with junior network engineering resources scoped to provision, maintain and support enterprise and live production network solutions during the initial rollout. Rollout and change control were executed as phased site provisioning with centralized policy templates and role based configuration management to ensure consistent enforcement of SD-WAN routing and segmentation across branches and production sites.
