Associated British Foods | Consumer Packaged Goods | 133000 | $25.0B | United Kingdom | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management | Warehouse Management | 2017 | n/a |
In 2017, Associated British Foods implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management as part of a broader Dynamics 365 rollout for the first of its divisions in the United Kingdom, targeting standardisation of operational practices across its brands. The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management application was deployed alongside core D365 capabilities to support warehousing functions within the division, aligning Warehouse Management with finance and operational processes.
The D365 deployment encompassed financials, master data collection, warehouse manager functionality, production control and scheduling, and customer support, forming a unified application footprint for the division. Configuration and courseware focused on typical Warehouse Management workflows, inventory handling, production scheduling alignment and master data governance to ensure consistent process execution across sites.
Delivery followed a hybrid implementation approach, with an external ERP training consultancy, Optimum, working alongside ABF internal trainers. Optimum had a six week window to develop end user training materials, trainer packs and reference guides, then delivered initial classroom sessions at three sites in the north of England and virtual sessions for remaining users, while concurrently transferring knowledge to ABF staff.
Governance and rollout responsibility was transitioned to ABF through a train the trainer model, with Optimum’s trainer packs and documentation handed over for localisation and future phases of the D365 rollout. Calbee America | Consumer Packaged Goods | 380 | $40M | United States | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management | Warehouse Management | 2019 | Calsoft Systems |
In 2019, Calbee America implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management as part of a broader move to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, engaging Calsoft Systems for implementation support. The 2019 implementation positioned Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management within the company’s new ERP footprint as the core Warehouse Management solution supporting inventory and fulfillment workflows.
The deployment included Mobile WMS capabilities to support inventory management across manufacturing and warehouse operations, production planning functions, order planning support, and recipe management for product development. DuBois Chemicals, Inc. | Professional Services | 1020 | $466M | United States | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management | Warehouse Management | 2019 | n/a |
In 2019, DuBois Chemicals, Inc. deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management as a core element of an enterprise program to scale operations under private equity ownership. The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management implementation was positioned alongside a broader Office 365 consolidation that converged 22 domains into a single tenant to improve capacity and collaboration across the organization.
The implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management focused on standard Warehouse Management capabilities, including inventory control, inbound and outbound workflows, cycle counting and mobile scanning workflows, and work orchestration to replace identified mis configured and manual processes. Governance and security controls were formalized as part of the rollout, with procedure and policy development, SOP creation, and data management standards to support operational consistency. Endpoint standardization to Windows 10 and a NIST aligned security policy were applied across lines of business, and a cybersecurity program including a warm site disaster recovery plan and business continuity planning was instituted to strengthen resilience.
Process and analytics workstreams accompanied the technical deployment, with Power BI based business analytics and KPI development to support executive decision making. Order to cash improvements were implemented in concert with the Warehouse Management system, including commission payment optimization and freight calculation recovery automation, and weekly status reporting was provided to the private equity board to track IT initiatives and acquisition integration progress.
