Quanta Services | Construction and Real Estate | 52500 | $20.9B | United States | Oracle | Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Fixed Assets | Enterprise Asset Management | 2012 | n/a |
In 2012, Quanta Services implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Fixed Assets as part of a broader JD Edwards system deployment that included GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Procurement, Contract Service Billing, HR, and Payroll. The initiative established a global mapping template aligned to JDE 9.0 and 9.2 functionality, and included design and creation of conversion programs to extract source data into JDE tables for Enterprise Asset Management and financial ledgers.
Configuration work for Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Fixed Assets encompassed leased asset maintenance, equipment and asset setup, equipment utilization and forecasting, and a depreciation projection process tailored to company requirements. Custom Z process applications were developed for project job, customer, vendor and asset setup, along with approval routes, BI Publisher reports, CafeOne layouts, and E1 pages to standardize asset lifecycle workflows and approval controls across operating units.
Integrations were designed and built to support operational data flows, including business services enabling a third party GPS system to query JDE data, enhancements to Vertex Wio log for Canadian tax handling, batch interfaces to third party financial and forecasting systems, and JSON payloads for Boomi to access employee benefits via AIS. Orchestrator was used to automate importing data files into purchase order Z tables and to create purchase orders, while conversion programs and extraction processes were implemented to populate Fixed Assets and related tables.
Operational coverage included both corporate and operating unit users, with leased asset maintenance allowing OPUs to upload records and Corporate users to maintain data, and a mobile equipment application developed to allow field engineers to inquire equipment information. Governance and support practices were formalized, the technical lead mentored development staff, collaborated with business analysts on functional design and complexity estimates, and worked with the CNC team for security setup and for initial analysis of JDE 9.2 upgrade impacts on customized objects.
The deployment positioned Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Fixed Assets within Quanta Services Enterprise Asset Management architecture, with ongoing system maintenance, enhancements, and developer ownership to support asset tracking, lease management, and integrations into financial and HR service flows.
