AGRO International | Manufacturing | 450 | $60M | Germany | ORTEC | ORTEC Load Building | Warehouse Management | 2021 | n/a |
In 2021 AGRO International implemented ORTEC Load Building as a targeted Warehouse Management capability. The implementation window ran from October 2021 to February 2022 and focused on introducing truck loading pre-planning into existing order-to-delivery operations supporting customer care for the UK and Baltic States.
ORTEC Load Building was configured to handle truck load pre-planning and sequencing, aligning load composition with packing and transport constraints documented by operations. Order entry workflows remained in ABAS ERP while ORTEC Load Building consumed order and shipment information to produce load plans, which were then coordinated with production planning, warehousing and logistics functions. Customer care retained responsibility for receipt-to-delivery workflows including complaints processing, price inquiries and commercial advice, with handoffs to planning and warehouse teams mediated through the ORTEC-driven load plans.
The rollout emphasized cross-functional process alignment rather than system replacement, integrating ORTEC Load Building into established production planning and warehouse operations. Governance changes centered on operational handoff points between customer service, production planning, warehousing and logistics, and on defining the cadence for exchanging order and shipment data between ABAS ERP and ORTEC Load Building. The deployment scope covered operational sites serving UK and Baltic States customers and embedded ORTEC Load Building into AGRO International Warehouse Management practices.

Benjamin Moore | Manufacturing | 2500 | $1.0B | United States | ORTEC | ORTEC Load Building | Warehouse Management | 2020 | n/a |
In 2020, Benjamin Moore deployed ORTEC Load Building as part of its Warehouse Management capability to optimize logistics for manufacturing operations in the United States. ORTEC Load Building for SAP was implemented to address three dimensional pallet, truck and container loading with the explicit goal of improving pallet and weight utilization and refining staging processes.
Configuration work concentrated on three dimensional load planning, palletization rules and weight distribution logic, along with truck and container sequencing to support outbound consolidation. The implementation standardized load templates and staging logic to align pick to ship workflows and to automate the creation of optimized load plans.
ORTEC Load Building for SAP integrated with Benjamin Moore's SAP environment to exchange shipment orders and dispatch data, enabling load plans to be generated from enterprise shipment records and applied directly to warehouse operations. The operational scope focused on manufacturing warehouse operations, packing and outbound fulfillment teams across U.S. sites.
Governance introduced workflow controls for load approval, staging sequencing and exception handling to operationalize the new load building processes. The project delivered ROI in less than one year, reduced required shipments which lowered Benjamin Moore's carbon footprint, and increased fulfillment rates as described in ORTEC's customer case study.

Layher | Manufacturing | 2300 | $410M | Germany | ORTEC | ORTEC Load Building | Warehouse Management | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018, Layher implemented ORTEC Load Building in Germany to support logistics, transport and warehouse load building and to strengthen Warehouse Management for transport planning and execution. The deployment targeted operational coordination across Layher's logistics, transport and warehouse departments and tied load planning into core warehouse workflows.
The solution was delivered as ORTEC for SAP ERP, using the O4S Transport Load Optimizer with packing and loading optimization modules. ORTEC Load Building provided 3D load visualization and line item planning capabilities, enabling plan-level packing and loading optimization within the transport load optimizer. The implementation integrated optimization outputs directly into Layher's SAP ERP and warehouse systems to close the planning to execution loop.
Operational governance emphasized cross functional orchestration between transport planning and warehouse operations, embedding line item planning into standard loading and dispatch workflows. The project produced explicit operational outcomes, increasing delivery reliability and vehicle utilization and reducing transport and logistics costs as reported by Layher.
