In 2019 Insurance Australia Group's IAG Satellite implemented Socotra Policy, an Insurance Policy Administration platform, to power its Accelerator model and to launch the Poncho digital auto product in Australia. The program completed after approximately a 10 month implementation focused on a policy administration, underwriting and billing use case for the Australian market.
Socotra Policy was configured to support core policy management, underwriting workflow orchestration, and billing capabilities, with platform security and policy lifecycle controls applied to insurer operational requirements. The implementation leveraged the platform's Insurance Policy Administration capabilities to provide a centralized policy record, configurable rating and coverage logic, and billing orchestration aligned to digital product demands.
Operationally the deployment targeted IAG Satellite and the Australian auto line, integrating the Socotra Policy instance with the Accelerator model and front-end digital channels to enable Poncho distribution and issuance. The scope included underwriting teams, product development and customer-facing operations in Australia, aligning policy administration and billing processes to the new digital product.
Governance and rollout emphasized rapid iteration and product-led configuration, embedding streamlined policy governance and workflow automation to shorten development cycles and support accelerated releases. Change management focused on updating underwriting and billing processes to operate against the new Insurance Policy Administration core and to maintain platform security standards.
As an explicit outcome, the Socotra Policy implementation enabled the Poncho launch in October 2019, improved speed-to-market for the Accelerator model and contributed to IAG receiving a Celent Model Insurer award.

Mutual of Omaha | Insurance | 8300 | $9.3B | United States | Socotra | Socotra Policy | Insurance Policy Administration | 2019 | n/a |
In 2019 Mutual of Omaha deployed Socotra Policy in its Insurance Policy Administration environment to modernize policy operations and to launch a cloud-native disability income product in the United States. The implementation focused on shortening product time to market and enabling API driven operations for policy lifecycle management.
Mutual of Omaha implemented Socotra Policy together with Socotra Reporting to manage policy administration functions, including product modeling, policy issuance orchestration, and configurable business rules for underwriting and servicing. Configuration-first product definition and rule engines were used to accelerate setup of the disability income product while preserving operational control through the policy administration interface.

Socotra Policy served as the system of record for policy data, while API endpoints and reporting capabilities enabled automated handoffs to distribution and operational workflows.
Deployment covered product, policy operations, underwriting, and IT teams responsible for configuration and release cadence, with governance centered on CI CD pipelines and API change control to manage product updates. The Socotra Policy deployment reduced application to issuance time from approximately 50 days to approximately 20 days and materially lowered run costs for the disability income product.
