Puget Sound Energy | Utilities | 3300 | $3.8B | United States | CGI Group | CGI PragmaCAD | Workforce Management | 2007 | CGI | In 2007, Puget Sound Energy deployed CGI PragmaCAD Mobile Workforce Management, a Workforce Management application, to automate allocation, scheduling, dispatching and monitoring of over 450 field resources across its gas and electric operations in the United States. The deployment focused on field operations and outage response workflows to improve responsiveness and reduce paper work orders. CGI PragmaCAD implementation delivered core Workforce Management capabilities including automated crew allocation, schedule optimization, dispatch consoles and mobile field monitoring to support real time task status and job confirmation. Configuration emphasized mobile-first field workflows and offline data capture to align technicians on gas and electric work orders. The project included integrations with back office systems, including SAP, and with mobile dispatch tools to synchronize work order status, asset records and crew availability between field devices and enterprise systems. CGI served as the implementation partner, establishing an integration layer to route mobile dispatch events into enterprise transaction systems and to surface outage information for centralized dispatch. Rollout covered both gas and electric operations and restructured dispatcher to field workflows by moving from paper based orders to electronic assignment and monitoring. The implementation was positioned to improve responsiveness and reduce paper work orders while centralizing scheduling and dispatch governance under the utility operations organization. | |
