Convex Insurance Insurance 700 $948M United Kingdom Snowflake Snowflake Data Cloud Data Warehouse 2019 n/a
In 2019, Convex Insurance implemented Snowflake Data Cloud as its centralized Data Warehouse to underpin analytics and operational reporting. Convex Insurance is a specialty insurer and reinsurer operating from London, Bermuda, Europe, and the United States with a small permanent headcount and an emphasis on rapid, API driven underwriting and distribution. Snowflake Data Cloud was configured to consolidate transactional feeds and third party data for underwriting, pricing, and claims analytics, delivering an elastic cloud store and SQL based analytical capabilities. The implementation emphasized ELT pipelines, normalized schema design for rating and quoting workflows, and data sharing constructs to support model scoring and business intelligence across underwriting teams. Snowflake was integrated into Convexs best of breed technology stack via Boomi Integration and API Management, and coexisted with Azure Active Directory, Amazon S3, Datadog, Eventbridge, Jira, and a Postgres database as part of the listed integration inventory. The architecture routed normalized policy, pricing engine outputs, distribution API traffic, and telemetry into Snowflake to provide a single analytical layer for underwriting, claims, and distribution reporting. Governance centered on API led ingestion, role based access through directory integration, and centralized analytics ownership to replace batch spreadsheet workflows with operational reports. The combined Boomi and Snowflake deployment supported Convexs shift to real time claims insights and underpinned the digital underwriting platform that delivered high volume quoting and rapid decisioning to distribution partners.
