AbbVie UK Life Sciences 584 $169M United Kingdom SAP SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) Warehouse Management 2019 n/a In 2019, AbbVie UK deployed SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) as its core Warehouse Management solution to standardize warehouse and distribution orchestration across its UK supply chain. The implementation targeted warehouse operations and supply chain execution functions, aligning SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) with AbbVie UK business processes for inbound receipt, goods receipt posting, putaway, picking and outbound staging. Configuration focused on EWM functional modules and operational capabilities, including inventory management, slotting logic, wave and transfer order processing, and radio frequency mobile data entry for warehouse floor execution. Data migration and master data rationalization were executed to populate inventory and location structures, and solution blueprinting was applied to configure warehouse monitors, resource management and warehouse task automation consistent with Warehouse Management best practices. The project incorporated integrations with SAP S/4 HANA and third party interfacing as part of the technical design, enabling transactional handoffs for purchase receipts, production supply and outbound shipments. Operational coverage centered on AbbVie UK warehouse sites and adjacent supply chain teams, with interfaces supporting order orchestration between ERP transaction flows and warehouse execution processes. Governance and rollout emphasized traditional program activities, including change management, training, testing, ongoing support and solution architect led blue printing and design reviews. The implementation lifecycle included testing cycles and training for warehouse operations staff, with post go live support and ongoing maintenance included in the project scope.
