The implementation used the ARIS Platform to establish a Business Process Management capability intended to standardise and consolidate common business processes and associated technologies across corporate and shared services. The program delivered design of the NSW Government Standards for HR, finance, procurement and IT service management, and developed a NSW Government BPM methodology, architecture, and design and management infrastructure platforms and standards. Configuration work emphasized automated management of business processes and a performance management capability to surface continuous improvement opportunities in costs and quality. Learning and capability development tools and support were included to raise skill levels for staff working in corporate and shared services. Operational scope covered sector-wide corporate and shared services across NSW Government, with a Standards Council created to set and govern standards and to oversee their implementation across departments. The Standards Council governance model formalised accountability for standards adoption and directed rollout sequencing for Business Process Management artifacts and ARIS Platform configurations. The implementation explicitly targeted aggregation of service provision to minimise support and transaction costs and sought to professionalise service arrangements to provide clearer career paths for staff. Software AG Aris was central to the program architecture, providing the repository and modelling framework for standards, process automation design, and the performance management constructs described in the reform program documentation. | |
