ALDI Australia Retail 17000 $9.5B Australia ServiceChannel ServiceChannel Facility Management 2022 n/a In 2022 ALDI Australia deployed ServiceChannel, a cloud-based facilities maintenance platform, under the Facility Management category to standardize maintenance operations across its Real Estate and Facilities Management teams. The rollout was delivered as an end-to-end program emphasizing user training, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to support ALDI Stores Australia’s national store network. The ServiceChannel implementation focused on configuring maintenance workflows and the work order lifecycle, establishing vendor engagement processes and centralized asset records, and embedding preventive maintenance scheduling and field service coordination consistent with Facility Management functional terminology. ServiceChannel was positioned as the operational system for maintenance request intake, dispatch and resolution, with pre- and post-implementation guides developed to codify processes and support user adoption. Deployment governance used JIRA and Confluence for project tracking, issue resolution and knowledge management, and the project team resolved integration challenges during deployment to ensure on-time delivery and uninterrupted system functionality. The implementation also involved coordination with SAP Ariba activities for Real Estate during ALDI’s broader SAP rollout, aligning procurement and facilities workflows where required. Operational rollout included post-implementation hyper care and designation of internal ServiceChannel subject matter experts to drive best practices and change management across Real Estate and Facilities teams. The program delivered improved maintenance workflows, higher user satisfaction and operational efficiency for users through hands-on training and ongoing support as stated by the project team.
ALDI Australia Retail 17000 $9.5B Australia Frontier Software Frontier Software iChris Core HR 2016 n/a In 2016, ALDI Australia implemented Frontier Software iChris to support Core HR across its Australian operations. The deployment was positioned to serve payroll and employee lifecycle management needs for a retailer operating almost 600 stores and 8 distribution centres across 6 states with approximately 17,000 employees, while the payroll team delivered fortnightly payroll for regional cohorts of 1,700 plus employees. Frontier Software iChris was configured to manage core employee master data and to support payroll processing workflows, onboarding and terminations, long service leave calculations, and superannuation administration. The implementation emphasized capabilities common to Core HR systems, including award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation support, maintenance of employee records, preparation of employment contracts and letters, and a centralized payroll inbox for case and query management. Operational integrations included time and attendance systems to feed hours and leave into payroll calculations, along with payroll related processes for PAYG tax, authorised payroll deductions, parental leave payments, and monthly reporting and remittance. The system was aligned to ALDI Australia payroll cadence and regional payroll delivery, supporting fortnightly pay runs and the operational needs of the Payroll team in Minchinbury. Governance was structured around the Payroll Team Leader as the operational owner for end to end delivery of Region Payroll, with defined responsibilities for compliance with labour laws and payroll legislation, escalation paths for complex award interpretation queries, and ongoing maintenance of employee records. The configuration supported standard Core HR functional workflows and established system stewardship within the payroll function without introducing external implementation partner references.
