In 2019, AC Immune implemented SAP Business ByDesign as a cloud ERP Financial solution, engaging Agilita as the system integrator. CFO Joerg Hornstein framed the program around a project centric model, noting that SAP was the only vendor able to make software that places a project one hundred percent at the center, and that clinical-stage biotechnology required a bespoke ERP approach.
The implementation established a project Work Breakdown Structure WBS as the primary organizational construct, enabling planning and monitoring of activities across the R&D life cycle. Configuration work included detailed expenditure category modeling for tailor made products and services, a human resources management and salary management solution designed to cover a full calendar year, and data cleansing to prepare transactional and project data for migration.
Operational coverage spanned finance, R&D project management, procurement and HR, with migration of existing R&D projects into the newly developed WBS noted as a complex, step by step effort. Approval rules and workflow based import controls were defined to govern purchase and project postings, and the cloud deployment facilitated centralized project financials and operational controls.
Governance and rollout followed a staged approach, beginning with HR and payroll stabilization, then defining a user concept, roles and approval workflows before migrating projects. The solution went live in early October 2019, after which SAP Business ByDesign became AC Immune’s ERP platform to enforce the project centric design and associated operational mechanisms.

In 2019, ANYbotics implemented SAP Business ByDesign as its ERP Financial platform with implementation services from Agilita. SAP Business ByDesign was provisioned to centralize finance and operational record keeping for the manufacturing site in Zurich and to provide a single system for inventory, warehouse and procurement processes.
The implementation configured core financial management together with inventory management, warehouse management and procurement modules, aligned to manufacturing workflows such as issuing materials for production, put and pick warehousing, incoming goods processing and basic quality checks. SAP Business ByDesign was used to manage outgoing goods workflows including packaging, labeling and shipping documentation, and to support inventory control, waste and recycling tracking as part of operational logistics.
Operational ownership and ongoing maintenance were shifted to the internal logistics team in Zurich, with a named logistician performing ERP maintenance and process optimization inside SAP Business ByDesign. Governance emphasized supply chain process review and continuous improvement across receiving, warehousing, production issuance and shipping, tying logistics operations into the ERP Financial application landscape.

In 2021 ArrowResources implemented SAP S/4 HANA Cloud as its ERP Financial platform, moving from an on premise SAP ERP ECC 6.0 installation to a single global financial system. The program was scoped to consolidate distributed accounting data into a single version of the truth to support rapid business growth and acquisitions, and to standardize transactional processing across languages, currencies, and regulatory frameworks.
The SAP S/4 HANA Cloud deployment focused on core financial modules and capabilities typical of the ERP Financial category, including group reporting, accounts payable and receivable automation, and live analytics enabled by the platform's built in intelligent technologies. Configuration emphasized accurate, live invoice processing for customers and suppliers in native country contexts, and the solution was positioned to expedite period close and deliver more contextualized financial insights to the office of the CFO.
Integrations were implemented to connect SAP S/4 HANA Cloud with complex front end applications intrinsic to ArrowResources operations, enabling end to end transactional flows and consolidated reporting across global sites. The project team identified SAP Analytics Cloud as the next step to layer visualization and planning capabilities on top of the SAP S/4 HANA Cloud data model to accelerate decision making and planning.
Agilita served as the system integrator and delivery partner for the rollout, bringing prior SAP S/4 HANA Cloud experience and a structured, remote delivery approach. The deployment was executed almost completely remotely and managed the added complexity of multiple acquisitions occurring during the program, and the live system now provides consolidated group reporting, deeper analysis and insights, and reduced time to complete accounting periods.
