Advatech Pacific | Aerospace and Defense | 40 | $4M | United States | Dassault Systemes | Dassault CATIA | Computer-Aided Design (CAD) | 2019 | n/a |
In 2019, Advatech Pacific implemented Dassault CATIA as its primary Computer-Aided Design (CAD) application to support aerospace mechanical design functions. The adoption targeted mechanical engineering activities including part modeling, assembly definition, and detailed drawing production for the companys US operations.
The Dassault CATIA deployment emphasized core CAD capabilities such as 3D parametric part modeling, assembly design, detailed drafting, and tolerance analysis consistent with aerospace mechanical design workflows. Configuration centered on CATIA V5 feature sets used by the engineering team, with functional workflows for drawing checking and document creation driven by CAD output.
Deployment was delivered as workstation installations supporting a Phoenix, Arizona engineering site and used by a small team of mechanical design engineers within Advatech Pacifics operations. Design data flows follow file based CAD workflows and structured drawing review cycles to govern document creation and tolerance stack analysis.
Rollout and governance were operationalized through an internal training track commencing July 2019, with a Mechanical Design Engineer trained in CATIA V5 and documented concurrent experience with Siemens NX 10. Governance emphasized standardized drawing templates and tolerance checking processes to align CAD deliverables with aerospace documentation and manufacturing handoff requirements.

Airbus | Aerospace and Defense | 56000 | $34.0B | France | Dassault Systemes | Dassault CATIA | Computer-Aided Design (CAD) | 2000 | n/a |
In 2000 Airbus committed to use Dassault CATIA as the Computer-Aided Design (CAD) component of a product development platform for the A3XX and future aircraft programs. The announcement documented an initial seven-year agreement to deploy over 2,500 seats within Airbus to support design and engineering for the A3XX program.
Dassault CATIA was specified for product creation and simulation, while ENOVIAVPM was selected to provide an integrated design-through-manufacturing solution and to establish the link with the PDM system used by Airbus. The program referenced CATIA Version 5 Knowledgeware and planned CATIA as a major tool within a virtual reality system to connect design, manufacturing and maintenance workflows years before the physical aircraft existed. Airbus also identified consideration of DELMIA for digital factory capabilities to extend the engineering-to-manufacturing chain.
The deployment footprint included Airbus sites in Toulouse and Suresnes and was intended to extend across the Airbus extended enterprise, including coordination with 10 risk sharing partners. IBM participated in the agreement, positioning IBM Product Lifecycle Management e-business solutions and IBM Global Services to support PLM integration and enterprise rollout. The implementation emphasis was on linking CATIA and ENOVIAVPM to Airbus PDM and partner systems to enable collaborative engineering across design, manufacturing and supply chain stakeholders.
Governance and program orientation focused on establishing an integrated product development platform for the A3XX, embedding CATIA-driven engineering processes into the aircraft development lifecycle. Airbus and its partners stated the use of CATIA and ENOVIAVPM would contribute to the complete integration of digital aircraft development and support meeting the A3XX time and cost objectives as part of the seven-year program.

Akebono Brake Industry Co. | Manufacturing | 5826 | $1.0B | Japan | Dassault Systemes | Dassault CATIA | Computer-Aided Design (CAD) | 2015 | n/a |
In 2015, Akebono Brake Industry Co. deployed Dassault CATIA for Computer-Aided Design (CAD). The implementation targeted the company’s design engineering function at Hanyu City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan, supporting development of high performance brake caliper assemblies for Audi, Bentley, Porsche, Mercedes Benz and Lamborghini.
Dassault CATIA was used for detailed 3D model preparation and assembly definition, enabling parametric 3D modeling of 6 pot and 10 pot caliper assemblies and precise component geometry authoring. Engineers produced 2D drawings from CATIA models for customer reviews, design change packages, quotation generation and production line usage, reflecting CAD driven documentation workflows.
Design engineers used Dassault CATIA alongside Creo for parallel 3D modeling workflows, with models and 2D deliverables produced for quoting and manufacturing documentation. Configuration emphasized standardized model and drawing templates and structured design change workflows to meet OEM documentation requirements and to support handoffs to production engineering.
The deployment established Akebono Brake Industry Co. Dassault CATIA Computer-Aided Design (CAD) as the central authoring tool for product design, engineering documentation and cross functional handoffs between design, quotation and production engineering since April 2015. Usage has continued through the present within the company’s design engineering group.
