American Surety Company | Insurance | 30 | $18M | United States | Innovative Computer Systems | Finys | Insurance ERP | 2020 | n/a |
In 2020, American Surety Company implemented Finys to support a new Miscellaneous Surety division for small commercial surety bonds. American Surety Company used Finys as an Insurance ERP to provide core back-office capabilities where the organization previously had no software, and the vendor presented a tailored interface and implementation plan during initial demos.
Finys was configured to deliver billing, claims, financials, accounting, and financial reporting, and the implementation included Bond Management screens, Documents, Diary, Agency Management, and payment processing for agencies and applicants. The customer chose not to use Finys as the front end for bond issuance, instead retaining a separate bond-issuance system while leveraging Finys for accounting, billing and reporting functions.
The project included a data migration demonstration and the construction of an interface between Finys and the third-party bond-issuance system, work that was shown early in the vendor evaluation. Finys provisioned a functionally accurate, configurable testing environment, progressed to user acceptance testing in the first half of 2021 with a prioritized gap list, piloted agency bond entry on May 15, 2022, and moved to production in June 2022 after resolving a brief pre-launch technical shutdown.
Governance and rollout were managed through iterative prioritization and close vendor collaboration, with Finys development resources participating on customer calls and producing regular updates in UAT. American Surety Company cited Finys organizational depth revealed at an October 2022 Innovation Advisory Board meeting, low vendor turnover for continuity, and explicit outcomes reported by the customer including solid performance, measurable value, and improved operational peace of mind.

Farmers of Salem | Insurance | 60 | $40M | United States | Innovative Computer Systems | Finys | Insurance ERP | 2020 | n/a |
In 2020, Farmers of Salem implemented Finys, an Insurance ERP, to centralize policy administration, billing, and claims workflows across its personal and commercial lines. The deployment covered personal lines products including Homeowners, Personal Umbrella, and Combination Dwelling, with commercial Business Owners Policy rolled out and Commercial Package planned, and operational writing in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware.
The Finys implementation included core policy administration, billing, claims, and reporting modules, together with the Finys Design Studio which Farmers used to build rating algorithms, rate data tables, test cases, endorsement forms, declarations, and Lookup Lists. The vendor implemented the user interface and completed online and batch integrations, and the carrier executed a point-in-time conversion for claims, going live for all lines of business simultaneously.
Finys was provisioned with both insured and agent portals, enabling policyholders to register policies, retrieve documents, pay bills, and report claims, and enabling agents to issue policies, log claims, and pull forms. The agent portal was configured to provide access to Finys and their existing claims environment, and portals exposed claim status details such as receipt, claim number, and assignments to internal and external adjusters to support self-service outside business hours.
Implementation governance relied on a structured cadence of biweekly full-team calls with Finys product leads and named resources in the Dallas office, plus weekly breakout calls by stream for policy, billing, claims, and reports to review releases and open tickets. Process changes included moving rating and product configuration into the carrier team using Design Studio, which aligned speed-to-market and reduced reliance on vendor-driven change cycles.
Farmers of Salem reported explicit operational benefits from Finys, including improved self-service and speed-to-market, more granular tracking of claim payments by specific coverages while enabling single check issuance, expense-reporting capabilities for in-house and outside adjusters and vendors, fewer inbound calls to claims due to portal transparency, and improved billing clarity for agents.

Hospitality Insurance Group | Insurance | 36 | $10M | United States | Innovative Computer Systems | Finys | Insurance ERP | 2020 | n/a |
In 2020 Hospitality Insurance Group implemented Finys as its core Insurance ERP, moving policy administration, billing, claims, and underwriting functionality onto a single platform. The project ran roughly 18 months from contract signature to full implementation of Commercial Property, General Liability, and Liquor Liability across seven states, with an initial phased exposure via early access to quoting well ahead of full cutover.
The deployment used Finys Design Studio to configure product rules and screens, and leveraged the Finys rules engine to eliminate off system spreadsheet processing for underwriters. Modules brought into production included policy administration, claims management, billing, and the Design Studio configuration layer, and the implementation enabled multi line writing on a single form to consolidate prior multi form workflows.
Hospitality relied heavily on Marias Technology for requirements definition, testing, and technical delivery support because internal IT resourcing consisted of a single person. The program executed a single simultaneous cutover for all seven states and all lines of business, which reduced agent and business partner fragmentation and simplified operational transition during go live.
Governance emphasized change management and user coaching, with leadership setting expectations about short term disruption and supporting users through an 18 month rollout cadence. Finys provided an early quoting capability so underwriters could gain familiarity before full system activation, and portals and mobile access were identified as the next functional priorities to support a planned move into Business Owner's Policy offerings and more standard market agent self service. Post go live outcomes reported by the company included a remarkably smooth launch, system stability from day one, increased underwriter confidence, and elimination of spreadsheet driven processing, and a commercial pricing relationship with Finys based on a percentage of premium that aligns vendor incentives with growth.
