Apak Group Limited | Professional Services | 4000 | $411M | United Kingdom | Forcepoint | Forcepoint NGFW | Next Generation Firewall | 2017 | n/a |
In 2017, Apak Group Limited deployed Forcepoint NGFW as a Next Generation Firewall to address capacity and resilience shortcomings in a proxy-based firewall that was struggling with increased inbound and outbound DNS traffic. The deployment was initiated after customers reported elevated traffic patterns that increased risk to customer networks, driving a need for packet inspection and higher availability.
The implementation configured Forcepoint NGFW as a packet inspection firewall with 24/7 availability in a load-balancing environment, enabling stateful inspection and inline intrusion prevention capabilities. Apak retained known hardware platforms during the rollout, allowing the Forcepoint NGFW to run on existing infrastructure while delivering greater resilience across the network.
Operational architecture was sized to leverage multiple network links and nodes, providing flexible bandwidth scaling and automatic failover when individual nodes became unavailable. Centralized management was instituted to govern a security estate that included 10 firewalls and 5 intrusion prevention system devices, consolidating policy administration and monitoring for network and infrastructure teams.
Governance focused on continuous availability and operational resiliency, with processes aligned to support 24/7 load-balanced operations and centralized configuration management. Results reported by Apak indicate the environment now supports automatic failover and scalable bandwidth across multiple links, with the Forcepoint NGFW giving the team the opportunity to explore system upgrades while running on familiar hardware, said Grimshaw.

Cegedim | Professional Services | 6500 | $714M | France | Forcepoint | Forcepoint NGFW | Next Generation Firewall | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018 Cegedim implemented Forcepoint NGFW to secure its global network infrastructure. The Next Generation Firewall deployment was scoped to address extremely high throughput requirements and to provision a large number of core network firewalls with advanced clustering, protecting the companys IT estate from external and internal attacks across distributed sites.
The implementation used a tailored Forcepoint Next Generation Firewall solution with intrusion prevention capabilities as a core functional module, and configurations emphasized performance tuning to match the powerful network fabric. Forcepoint NGFW was configured for clustered core firewall roles, with IPS enabled in targeted data centers to provide inline threat prevention while maintaining throughput.
Centralized administration and policy management were implemented to manage distributed branch sites across Europe, Asia and Australia, consolidating rule sets and security policies into a global dashboard. The centralized dashboard allows operators to manage the entire global security environment and to activate IPS features at the companys APAC and NCSA data centers, enabling coordinated policy enforcement and incident response.
The deployment followed a two year evaluation process that tested leading firewall products before selecting the tailored Forcepoint solution, and rollout sequencing prioritized core cluster installation followed by distributed site administration. Governance changes focused on central policy orchestration and standardization of firewall workflows, enabling subsidiaries to request Forcepoint support as network security needs arise.
Cegedim reported rapid ROI and a significant reduction in management costs as explicit results of the rollout, and Forcepoint will be the priority vendor for future subsidiary support. As the company concluded The Forcepoint NGFW provides both security and speed, we saw significant results right at the start.

De’Longhi Group | Manufacturing | 10000 | $4.1B | Italy | Forcepoint | Forcepoint NGFW | Next Generation Firewall | 2019 | n/a |
In 2019 De'Longhi Group deployed Forcepoint NGFW as its Next Generation Firewall to standardize perimeter and site to site security across e-Services and manufacturing network estates. The Forcepoint NGFW implementation was managed within e-Services, the De'Longhi Group IT organization, to support internal operations and project delivery for external clients.
Configuration work emphasized NGFW policy enforcement, VPN termination, application control, intrusion prevention and routing protocol support, with SD WAN orchestration layered to manage branch connectivity. The deployment integrated with Cisco Meraki and Cisco Catalyst switching infrastructure and established secure connectivity patterns to Google Cloud Platform and AWS VPCs alongside on premises network stacks. Automation and operational scripting using Python were used to provision devices and maintain configuration consistency across firewall and WAN estates.
Operational governance was assigned to cloud and network administrators within e-Services, with explicit responsibilities for setup, ongoing maintenance, incident response and end user support. Change control for firewall policies and SD WAN configurations was coordinated between infrastructure, security and cloud teams, and the Cloud and Network Administrator role provided the operational focal point for Forcepoint NGFW management and network security operations.

Erg | Utilities | 660 | $797M | Italy | Forcepoint | Forcepoint NGFW | Next Generation Firewall | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018, ERG Group installed Forcepoint NGFW as part of a broader network security upgrade. The move coincided with deployment of Forcepoint Web Security and Forcepoint Email Security to address pervasive spam and phishing across all EU locations, while Forcepoint NGFW provided Next Generation Firewall capabilities to secure site connectivity.
Forcepoint NGFW combined firewall-based site security with SD-WAN support to simplify intersite connectivity across multiple European sites. The implementation emphasized centralized policy orchestration, application-aware traffic control, and integrated threat inspection consistent with Next Generation Firewall functionality, aligning with ERG’s requirements for a cost-efficient, manageable, and scalable firewall estate. Configuration focused on perimeter enforcement and site-level traffic segmentation to reduce complexity when connecting distributed sites.
The NGFW was deployed alongside Forcepoint Web Security and Email Security to create a layered security posture that safeguarded employee internet use and email. Operational coverage included ERG’s IT and network security teams across its European sites, with SD-WAN enabling consistent policy enforcement and routing across locations. The combined deployment centralized traffic inspection and policy enforcement at the network perimeter and at branch edges.
Governance and rollout prioritized centralized management and simplified connectivity, enabling ERG to operationalize a manageable firewall environment with SD-WAN orchestration. ERG reported that Forcepoint Web Security and Email Security virtually ended spam and phishing companywide, and ERG’s head of network security characterized Forcepoint as essential for protecting web traffic and email.
