M3 Hotel Accounting was configured to support core financial modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor setup, and vendor payments, with daily report generation, invoice input and tracking workflows. The implementation covered recurring tasks such as journal posting, P&L preparation, processing accruals, credits, adjustments and charge backs, and cash bank reconciliations.
Operationally the property used M3 Hotel Accounting alongside Marriott and Starwood operational systems, including CTAC, Marriott business application for rewards processing, Certify, Micros, Lightspeed, and Paylocity within accounting workflows. Invoices were created through the Marriott system as part of the billing cycle, and payroll was prepared for processing while new hires were processed through E Verify, reflecting cross functional coordination between accounting, payroll and operations.
The deployment extended to full billing cycle management including vendor invoice creation, vendor payment execution and vendor record maintenance, and routine collaboration with department heads to monitor and enforce departmental budgets. Reporting cadence included daily, weekly and monthly operation reports presented to the general manager, embedding M3 Hotel Accounting into operational governance and financial oversight at the property.
At the property level the implementation centralized transactional accounting and reporting within M3 Hotel Accounting, enabling advanced use of M3 modules by the accounting team for vendor heavy billing cycles and payroll preparation. This structure positioned the application as the primary Hospitality ERP for Aloft Orlando Downtown by Merriott accounting and financial control functions.

Ethan Allen Hotel | Leisure and Hospitality | 10 | $1M | United States | M3 | M3 Hotel Accounting | Hospitality ERP | 2014 | n/a |
In 2014, Ethan Allen Hotel implemented M3 Hotel Accounting as its Hospitality ERP to centralize accounting functions and to support the HR and Accounting Manager with day-to-day financial operations. The deployment targeted core hotel financial workflows, focusing on invoice processing, revenue posting, and general ledger maintenance within a single application environment.
M3 Hotel Accounting was configured to support accounts payable workflows and daily revenue posting, with explicit responsibilities to enter invoices into M3 Hotel Accounting and to ensure postings matched the hotel’s Daily Revenue Report. Operational use required staff to reconcile entries against supporting documents, and working knowledge of hotel property systems such as Opera and Micros was expected within 90 days of training to enable accurate cross-referencing during revenue reconciliation.
Governance for the implementation emphasized operational review controls, with the Accounting Manager overseeing special assignments and daily review of revenue reports to validate accounting entries. The scope of the implementation covered on-site accounting business functions at the hotel, relying on procedure-driven controls and role-based tasking rather than named system integrations.

In 2013 Expotel Hospitality implemented M3 Hotel Accounting, migrating core financial functions from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 into a Hospitality ERP configuration. Governance and rollout were led by the on-site Task Force Manager and General Manager, who organized the opening timeline with ownership, staffed and trained the opening team, and enforced standard operating procedures and internal controls within the M3 environment. The deployed Hospitality ERP supported routine financial controls, daily rate monitoring and member level revenue oversight, and served as the primary system for accounting, income audit, HR file maintenance and property level forecasting.
