Arcadis | Professional Services | 32059 | $5.8B | Netherlands | Oracle | Oracle Cloud PPM | Project Portfolio Management | 2023 | n/a |
In 2023 Arcadis implemented Oracle Cloud PPM as the Project Portfolio Management component within its global Oracle Fusion Cloud Apps estate, positioning Oracle Cloud PPM to support project delivery, portfolio oversight and resource planning across the business. Oracle Cloud PPM was deployed as part of a centralized cloud architecture that Arcadis uses for core enterprise functions, aligning Project Portfolio Management with HCM, financial management, procurement and sales to bring global expertise to local projects.
The Oracle Cloud PPM rollout emphasized configuration and process standardization for project planning and resource allocation, with functional capabilities focused on portfolio visibility, project scheduling and alignment to enterprise resource planning workflows. Implementation work included explicit integration points between project planning and HCM for resourcing and time recording, and Arcadis has signaled an intent to more tightly link the financial component to project planning inside the ERP module to improve cost to project alignment.
Architecturally the deployment is a centralized Oracle Fusion Cloud environment, replacing fragmented country systems and enabling shared services and shorter lines of operational governance across more than 30 countries and thousands of projects. Arcadis moved through an intermediate Oracle EBS step before beginning Fusion Cloud migration in 2018 and completed shutdown of the last EBS environment in early 2024, consolidating HCM, project management, financial management, procurement and sales onto Fusion Cloud.
Governance and rollout placed heavy emphasis on change management because people and domain knowledge are core assets, and process standardization across project delivery and HR workflows was required to make Oracle Cloud PPM effective. Arcadis receives quarterly Oracle Fusion updates and will adopt new platform capabilities including announced GenAI features, and leadership states that without Oracle Fusion the company cannot operate effectively as a global services organization.
