Functionally the SAP R/3 - Production and Planning implementation delivered core production planning and shop floor scheduling capabilities consistent with Advanced Planning and Scheduling workflows, while the SAP application server also provided centralized application services to assembly plants. Integration points within the environment included DB2 on z/OS for transactional data, SAMBA for file service consolidation, and a Lotus Domino web server running under z/OS for intranet delivery.
The project was implemented by IBM business partner SVA Wiesbaden, with operational scope covering manufacturing sites and assembly plants and supporting over 1000 users. Explicit outcomes reported included substantially improved availability for assembly plants, stable DB2 operation, and access times roughly halved after the Shark storage replacement, while monthly data growth of about 28 GB was managed through the mainframe storage architecture.

Integrations included tight coupling with Microsoft Office applications and removal of bespoke interfaces, improving data availability across finance, sales, procurement, HR, production planning and maintenance.
Steeb Anwendungssysteme GmbH served as the implementation partner for the SAP R/3 rollout, with All for One Group recorded as SI/VAR. The SAP-BIW data warehouse received daily transaction uploads and monthly master data loads, with monthly reconciliations between SAP R/3 and BIW to surface and resolve anomalies. Operational tooling included SAP's TMS change control ticketing managed to closure and Trackwise user administration for quality workflows.
Projects and changes were governed to Good Manufacturing Practice standards, with formal validation, test results, change control forms and sign off by Quality or Head of Department where required. The Senior Project Manager role led planning, testing and go live activities, following SDLC practices to ensure operational continuity during business hours and month end processing. Daily monitoring of BI report delivery and data uploads was required to maintain MIS availability and support production planning and scheduling functions.
