Campus Living Villages | Leisure and Hospitality | 500 | $80M | United States | StarRez | StarRez Platform | Real Estate Property Management | 2014 | n/a |
In 2014 Campus Living Villages implemented the StarRez Platform as its primary Real Estate Property Management application to centralize student accommodation operations across its global portfolio. The program was driven by the Global Head of ICT and aligned with a cloud-first strategy that sought consolidation of key business applications and infrastructure into IaaS and SaaS models.
The StarRez Platform rollout emphasized resident lifecycle and bookings orchestration, allocation and room assignment rules, tenant billing schedules and operational reporting capabilities. Configuration work centered on standardizing property and bed inventories, automating allocation workflows, and embedding financial touchpoints for billing and revenue capture consistent with student housing operations.
Architecturally the implementation was delivered into a hybrid cloud environment, with outsourced IaaS provisioned through BigAir and hot standby disaster recovery facilities, plus refreshed regional data center capacity. StarRez Platform was established within an application landscape that included NetSuite ERP and Financials, HRMS, Protecht and WebTMA, enabling coordinated operational handoffs between property operations, finance and maintenance functions.
Governance and rollout included a three year strategic roadmap backed by board-approved funding, a restructured global ICT organization that merged regional teams, and the establishment of service level agreements to realign IT support expectations. Workstreams ran proof of concept activity for an outsourced service desk and explored technology extensions such as smartphone door locking and beacon-based services to extend the property management footprint.
Operationally the program delivered outsourced infrastructure capacity and consolidated application ownership under a global ICT function, with explicit governance artifacts and SLAs to support ongoing operations. The StarRez Platform implementation therefore served as a central Real Estate Property Management system within Campus Living Villages and as a nexus point for ICT consolidation efforts.

Louisiana State University | Education | 5415 | $1.3B | United States | StarRez | StarRez Platform | Real Estate Property Management | 2019 | n/a |
In 2019, Louisiana State University implemented the StarRez Platform, a Real Estate Property Management application to centralize student housing operations across multiple campuses supporting nearly 39,500 students. The StarRez Platform was deployed to manage housing lifecycle processes and to provide a unified housing system that interfaces with university administrative services.
The StarRez Platform implementation focused on core property management capabilities commonly required in higher education, including resident assignment and occupancy management, room inventory and configuration, move in and move out workflows, and housing billing and payment orchestration. Configuration work emphasized standardizing housing business rules and access controls to align housing operations with registrar and student services processes.
Integration architecture used the institution's Boomi Enterprise Platform as the primary integration backbone, connecting StarRez Platform to Workday Financial Management and Human Capital Management, institutional CRMs such as Salesforce and Slate, Snowflake for analytics, Elavon payment processing, Blackbaud awards management, and placement and assessment systems like ACCUPLACER. LSU runs a large set of Boomi integrations that include StarRez as part of the university integration fabric, and the program has produced APIs through Boomi API Management to expose housing data for downstream consumers. Workday Studio remains in use for certain inbound and boomerang integrations, while Boomi provides any to any integration flexibility for StarRez workflows.
Operational scope extended across housing operations, student services, and finance, with integration ownership sitting in LSU IT where a six person integration team expanded capacity through Boomi. Governance changes prioritized reusable integration patterns and centralized API management to reduce duplicate data entry and to support the broader Workday Student initiative. LSU documented accelerated integration throughput and increased team capacity as part of the integration program, enabling faster service delivery for housing and related student administrative functions.
